7 ply has 2 more layers of wood=greater speed/power but less contrl/dwell.
Composite means has a layer or 2 of a material other than wood that will enhance the play.the most common composite is carbon.this gives the blade additional power without increasing thickness and weight too much(compared to 2 layers of wood)

Guess it may be easier based on some reviews on the new balls, guess having to work harder to get more out of the new ball and by using a composite blade will make it easier as ive always found composite blades alot faster!!! that said guess it could make it harder to get more spin off the ball if your stroke is slower, then i suppose thats gonna be quite dependant on how soft your rubber is
