Im getting a new phone and would appreciate some help, I would like one that has a very good camera, especially recording video, even slow motion if possible, I know apples phones (https://www.apple.com/) can do that for example?
Help please! :)

I have a Samsung Galaxy which shoots good video however my friend has the latest iphone 6 and the camera is amazing. The slow motion is exceptional, it records a higher frame rate than a go pro for slow motion!

I guess the only downside is the price.

Where do you live because prices vary?

I highly recommend Samsung Galaxy s5. It has 4k video camera (and it's a great phone in general).

I would see the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 or 4, Motorola Droid Turbo, or even the OnePlusOnes having a great camera for shooting video even though I have never had any experience with those phone. :)

Nokia Lumia 930 or Lumia 1520. Excellent camera and video capabilities. The new Lumia devices are branded with Microsoft and will receive free update to Windows 10 OS. I think that you should read more about these devices and view some review videos before making a choice. Good luck!

If you want to make phone calls buy a phone. If you want to take pictures, buy a camera !! Most modern smartphones will take pretty good stills, so long as you don't view them at full size where oversharpening and JPEG compression artifacts become very noticeable; for video though the first and overarching requirement is something which can be held properly still, and mobile phones are completely the wrong shape for that - hence the plethora of jerky videos on YouTube and elsewhere !

Thanks for the replies, and sorry for the late reply. I guess I will go see a Samsung Galaxy in store then, I had this idea in my head somehow that its a cheaply made asian knock-off but clearly I was wrong. What about Huawei? They look alright, and are cheaper than Samsung. Anyone here have one?

Generally, Chinese brands have better spec but poorer lens, so I advice no go. :)

I have a friend with the latest i_ Phone 6s. It can record at 240 FPS. It can also play back on its screen but the screen is small. I have a GoPro black 3+. I can record but can view what I record until I down load it to a computer. I don't recommend GoPros for TT. An iPad air 2 can only record at 120 FPS but it can play back immediately and may be the most practical option.

Stellan Bengston provides training camps close to where I live. What makes these camps useful is that his wife, Angie, records players playing and then plays the video back for the player immediately on her iPad. I think that is very effective because the feed back is immediate. I bet Angie Bengsten gets the latest and greatest iPad as they come out. I hope the iPad Air 3 will be able to record at 240 FPS.

I have a Huawei (Honor 3X), and it's a great phone that I would recommend to most people, but while you can take pics and video, I think there are better solutions out there. And you can't put it on a tripod, so if there's just 2 of you, or you can't trust someone to film properly, that won't work.

Just get a google glass to virtually compete in your mind. No recording required. Just have an memory card implanted in your head.

Go for viscaria with H3 and t64.

Oooops, wrong thread. hahaha.

Honestly, go for apple i p h o n e, the color balance is good. Or go for Samsung Galaxy for more options in recording videos and taking pictures.

I think I'll have to go test a few different ones, in the end the price is not the most important thing but I dont want to pay for the brand either.

I have I phone 6 plus , however i'm going to train in China in late November for one month. I'm thinking to get the good camera to record . I also i have the Go pro version 2 with 3 extra batteries and lots of memories chips , a few terabyte of extra storage to transfer the end of the day. Thanks in advance .

i'm also looking for a way to record my matchs and training sessions, and i'll probably go for an action cam, not a GoPro that is expensive but the Denver ac-5000w looks great for the price range.

Olio

With the Denver camera, you'll only get about 110 minutes of footage from a new battery, so maybe not quite good enough to film a training session + matches...

With my smartphone (Samsung galaxy express) i dont know if i can do that much with the same quality, but it seems tha ill not go for the Denver, looking for this one instead.

I know, right! It is always interesting how clear, concise and meaningful some comments can be. Look how much information can be communicated with just 3 letters. Sometimes it makes me wonder what we would do without such valuable contributions.

Lol

Well, we've clarified what an informative post this was.
But what were you referring to Crayon? Use the quote function.

Anyway, if you want true slowmotion, use one of the Sharp phones which shoots 1200fps (Frames Per Second) video at 1080p.

It seems to me that Motorola is always one of those hooks, they have the best quality of photos taken. At least I hear such opinions very often.
