Butterfly Jun Mizutani Super ZLC vs Zhang Jike Super ZLC Blade Review with England's Darius Knight!

TableTennisDaily had the fantastic opportunity to review Butterfly's latest blades, comparing the Jun Mizuntani Super ZLC with the Zhang Jike Super ZLC, with Butterfly player Darius Knight!

Both @Dan and Darius Knight alternated the blades they were using between the Mizutani and Zhang Jike super ZLC throughout the review to get a good idea of how each perform. Tenergy 05 was used on both the forehand and back hand side.

Thanks to Butterfly, Daniel Ives, Darius Knight and the Butterfly Bounce Club in the making of this review.

Thanks Dan. You mention in your review that these blades 'take the other carbon classics like the Boll Spirit & the Viscaria to another level'. how would you compare these blades to the popular ones like the TBS, TB-ALC or Viscaria?

Hi Slevin,

The TBS and the TB-ALC are excellent blades and are extremely popular. In comparing these blades to the carbon Super ZLC blades I think they are taking them to another level through their extreme quality and consistency. I think it's a bit like, how do you compare a Iphone 6 to an Iphone 5. Both are fantastic however different carbon blades come with slight variations.

In traditional carbon blades where you only use carbon as fiber material tend to be very stiff without getting to much feedback from the ball. The ALC composite Layer in butterfly blades you have mentioned reduces the vibration in blades. The Zylon Fiber used in the Super ZLC blades offers a softer feel which increases control and feeling for the carbon blades. It also provides greater dwell over traditional carbon blades.

That was a bit technical but I think that's why these Super ZLC carbon blades are going onto further levels by improving the feeling and control ratio to speed by increasing the tech within the blades.
