Ma Long & Wu Yang Are The 2016 German Open Champions! (VIDEOS)

The prestigious German Open concluded today on the 31st January 2016. The event saw an impressive entry list including the world's top players entering such as Ma Long, Zhang Jike, Timo Boll, Dimitrij Ovtcharov, Fang Bo, Marcos Freitas and many more. World number 1 Ma Long came out on top in superb fashion without dropping a set all the way till the final! The women's singles final saw China's defensive player Wu Yang take on Japan's Kasumi Ishikawa.

Lots of great matches took place throughout the Super World Tour. Impressively host nations Timo Boll and Dimitrij Ovtcharov were eliminated in the quarter final stages. Boll lost out to in form Vladimir Samsonov in 4 straight sets. Ovtcharov lost to Chuang Chih Yuan 4-1.

In the semi finals Ma Long faced arch rival Zhang Jike. Ma Long maintained his devastating form defeating Zhang Jike in 4 sets with scores 11-7, 11-4, 11-7, 11-7. In the other half of the draw Vladimir Samsonov defeated Chuang Chih Yuan 4-1 with scores 11-6, 11-9, 7-11, 11-8, 11-3.
