Day 5 of the World Team Table Tennis Championships 2016 took place in Kuala Lumpur, in the 10,000 seat arena on the 3rd March! Today saw the preliminary matches take place in the men's and women's draw for a chance to qualify into the quarter finals! The top team from each group had a bye today.

In the men's event China, Korea Republic, Japan and France all had a bye and await eagerly in the quarter finals.

Main Draw

Men

In the men's main draw quarter finals China face Sweden, Portugal take on Korea Republic, Japan will battle against Hong Kong and England will play France. Full draw below:

Women

In the women's event China are through to the semi finals with a 3-0 win over Netherlands. Second seeds Japan follow suit with a 3-0 win over Germany. Chinese Taipei and Hong Kong battle for a semi final place. In the other half of the draw Singapore face Korea DPR. Full draw below by the ITTF.
