The full China Women's team included Liu Shiwen, Ding Ning, Li Xiaoxia, Zhu Yuling, and Chen Meng. The full Japanese squad consisted of Ai Fukuhara, Kasumi Ishikawa, Mima Ito, Misako Wakamiya and Yui Hamamoto. The final of the World Team Championships saw Liu Shiwen, Li Xiaoxia and Ding Ning take on Ai Fukuhara, Kasumi Ishikawa and Mima Ito.
