An incredible effort saw the England Mens team reach the final of the commonwealth games 2010 this week!
There match up was against Singapore the number 1 seeds, with a vast range of experienced players. England lost out 3-1, however a fine performance from Liam Pitchford made him beat world ranked 17 Gao Ning to give England the 1-0 lead.
However Gao Ning team of Ma Liang and Yang Zi won the next to games against Paul Drinkhall and Andrew Baggerly to give Singapore a 2-1 lead.
Determined Gao Ning went on to play Paul Drinkhall to redeem himself to eventually winning 3-1.
The performance from England was very promising for the future, and the singles and doubles commence next week!
Good luck!

Paul Drinkhall comments on the game taken from http://www.morethanthegames.co.uk/d...-drinkhall-disappointment-england-slip-silver
"At the moment it feels like a defeat," said Drinkhall, the 20-year-old from Middlesbrough who was gutted to go home empty handed from his Games debut four years ago.
"It's a bit of a disappointing feeling now but I'm sure I will wake up tomorrow and realise I've won a silver medal.
"Singapore played really well. We're a little disappointed because there were opportunities for us but silver is still a fairly good return."
