38 year old Werner Schlager from Austria has been having trouble with his neck for the last few weeks. Nerve inflamation is causing him grief and ache. Schalger has decided he is not fit enough and therefore has pulled out of the WTTC 2011 thats starts on the 8th May in Rotterdam.

The former world champion had to pull out of the ECL semi final match between Sclagers side SVS Niederosterreich and opponents Borussia Dusseldolf. Who knows perhaps Schlager on board could of put the Austrian team into the final?

Werner Schlager is a huge loss to the WTTC as he is the only non Chinese competitor in the championships who has won the title. This is the second major upset for Europe as Michael Maze had to pull out of the event due to on going knee injury.

You will be missed there Schlager!

Well it opens the doors to new players.. European players need to come up the list to challenge the Chinese players.. Chinese players are harbored and trained like dogs to play TT !! No other country would put so much pressure on a player..

Thats the good thing..
It gives chances to the young future player..

Thats not true at all. All the top players all start from basically the same age when they are young. In China it is your choice to play table tennis and the regiments are just a little more challenging in China than it is in europe. Just like how the United State dominant in basketball vs any other country because we train harder.
