Borussia Dusseldorf today went 3-0 up against Orenburg in the first leg of the ECL Finals in Germany.

Borussia Dusseldorf sent out a strong team including Timo Boll, Patrick Baum and Christian Suss. Orenburg also sent out a very impressive team including Alexei Smirnov, Dimitriji Ovtcharov and Vladimir Samsonov.

The first match up was between Dusseldorf's superstar Timo Boll against Alexi Smirnov. Timo Boll opened the set early by showing a tremendous display of topspins going 2-0 up. Smirnov held on a did some amazing counter top spins to win he third end. After team talks with the coaches Boll forces his way to victory and won the match 12-10, 11-4, 11-13, 16-14.

The second match was a close encounter between the two rising stars from Germany. Dimitrij Ovtcharov vs Orenburg Patrick Buam. The match took of with a flying start by both players. Every player got in first on every opporutunity to try and force each other back from the table. The eventual winner was Dusselford's Patrick Buam winning 8-11, 11-5, 11-9, 11-9.

The third match began with Christian Suss vs Orenburg's Vladimir Samosonov. Suss started of amazingly by topspinning the ball wide into Samsonov's backhand and then into his body. In the fourth set, Suss kept Samsonov guessing and went away with this very important victory for Dusseldorf. Suss beat Vladi 12-10, 11-7, 3-11, 11-5.
