In the opening match Patrick Baum was dismissed by in form Xu Xin. Xu defeated Patrick by 3 games to 0 with scores: 11-6, 11-3, 11-9

However the next match was sensational! Dimitrij Ovtcharov, the German star defeated China's Wang Hao by 3 games to 1 with scores 11-7, 11-8, 9-11, 11-9.

The young sensation used his innovative skills to dispatch Wang Hao. According to the ITTF Dimitrij had the crowd on their feet! Ovtcharov was in fine form and levelled the match score for Germany. Things were looking good!

China fought back in the 3rd match with a doubles win! Ma Long and Wang Hao defeated Patrick Baum and Bastian Steger by 3 games to 0 with devastating scores of 11-5, 11-8, 11-5.

Xu Xin was up next against Bastian in the fourth match of the semi final. Xu Xin was in fine form and Bastian did well to even gain a point! The score line was 11-6, 11-1, 11-3.

China defeat Germany by 3 matches to 1.

China will face either Japan or Korea Republic in the final of the Men's Team Cup 2011. Who will they face?

My big question for you is, if Timo Boll was not injured could this semi final have gone a different way? Perhaps Timo Boll would of won the opening match against Ma Long to put pressure on China?

Who knows :)
