Michael Maze has had a terrible 2 years since his excellent Men's Singles win at the European Championships 2009! However, due to injuries he has been unable to play. Making a come back at today's European Super Cup saw Michael Maze defeat Dimitrij Ovtcharov by 3 games to 2!

A prize fund of 120.000 US Dollars is a mouth watering prize on offer at the INTERSPORT Super Cup to be staged in Russia’s city of Ekaterinburg on 6th and 7th December 2011. Once again, same as last year, in Verkhnaya Pyshma in Ekaterinburg the top players from Old Continent will gather in two days filled with great action. Beside the fans in Ekaterinburg, everybody will be able to enjoy the matches at home thanks to ETTU Wet TV Channel Laola1.tv, live on Internet.
At the top of the list of invited players is Dimitrij OVTCHAROV of Germany. He entered top 10 at the World rankings on the first day of December and he will came in Verkhnaya Pyshma, Ekaterinburg with pleasant memories of a winner of this event at the same place in 2010. Vladimir SAMSONOV of Belarus is currently ranked at position no. 14, whilst Bastian STEGER and Patrick BAUM will reinforce German squad in Russia as players ranked at positions no. 20 and 21 in World.
