German sensation Patrick Franziska keeps Germany alive in Qatar Open!

Germany's Patrick Franziska defeats Chinese Taipei’s Chuang Chih-Yuan in a thriller of a match in the round of 16 at the Qatar Open World Tour on the 10th February 2012.

Patrick Franziska is not seeded in the Qatar Open and had to qualify through the two day qualification stages prior to the main draw. The former European Junior Champion had two match points in the sixth set against Chuang which he did not manage to win. Chuang Chih Yuan managed to turn the game around with a 5-3 lead in the seventh set. However determined Patrick raced away and the teenager won 11-7!

Patrick Franziska defeated Chuang Chih-Yuan by 4 games to 3 with scores 11-9, 3-11, 9-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-13, 11-7.

Patrick will now play Joo Se Hyuk of Korea! Can Germany's teenage sensation pull of yet another upset?
