Consistent Jun Mizutani played superbly and raced into a 3 set to 1 lead over reigning Olympic champion Ma Lin. However as soon as the fifth set began we saw a totally different Ma Lin. The penholder from China was in full focus and used his absolute 'all' to defeat in form Jun Mizutani. Ma Lin used his chop blocks, drop shots and forehands to his advantage to force his Japanese opponent into making many unforced errors. The last three sets went to Ma Lin in total control with scores: 11-6, 11-7, 11-5
