The Chinese Women's Team wins 2012 Asian Championships - a preview to the World Championships?

The Chinese Women's National Team are the Asian Champions 2012 as they redeem themselves from their shock defeat in Moscow back in 2010. What a fantastic championships the Chinese women's team have had as they dispose Singapore in the final by three matches to one on the 25th February 2012!

A repeat of the previous Asian Championships saw China take on Singapore in the Women's team event final at the 20th Asian Championships!

In the opening match, China star Guo Yan gave China the lead in an extremely impressive performance against Feng Tianwei. Feng played superbly almost winning the second set however Guo Yan won the match 3-0 with scores 11-8, 12-10 and 11-6.

In the second match China's Guo Yue followed her compatriot as the World number 6 defeated Singapore's Li Jiawei 3-1 with scores 11-4, 6-11, 11-4 and 13-11.

There was a ray of light for Singapore as Yu Mengyu produced a sensational win over China's Liu Shiwen in the third match of the final! Determined Yu Mengyu defeated Liu in five sets with supreme inspiration as she defeated the World number 2 with scores 7-11, 11-6, 6-11, 11-8 and 11-5.

Stigas Guo Yu returned to the arena to lead China to victory! Guo Yue disposed Singapore's Feng Tianwei by 3 games to 1 (11-3 12-10 5-11 11-9) to secure China's triumph! China redeem their defeat from the Asian Championships in 2010 and are now the Women's Team Champions at the Asian Championships 2012!
