Number nine seed Gao Ning just scrapped passed in form Sharath Kamal Achanta in an epic encounter. Gao Ning won by four games to three with scores 8-11, 7-11, 12-10, 11-3, 9-11, 11-6 and 11-6. Japan's Kenta Matsudaira caused the biggest upset amongst the top seeds today. Kenta defeated Korea’s Kim Min Seok, the only top sixteen seed to fall at the second round hurdle. In form Kenta who defeated Yang Zi in the team event, overcome Kim by four games to nil with scores: 11-4, 13-11, 11-7, 11-6. Kenta currently World ranked at 45 whilst Kim Min Seok World ranked at 30.
