Xu Xin and Guo Yan Mix Doubles Champions at Asian Championships 2012!

Left hander Xu Xin and Right hander Guo Yan proved to strong in the mixed doubles at the Asian Championships 2012 today on the 28th February 2012. Once again the combination of a right and left hander has shown success and has proved to be a winning formula over the years. China's Xu Xin and Guo Yan defeated Singapore's number 3 seeds Gao Ning and Li Jiawei by four games to one with scores: 15-13, 7-11, 11-3, 11-8, 11-8

In the opening set, Gao Ning and Li Jiawei stood authority and took the lead at 6-3. However, Xu Xin and Guo Yan managed to climb back to eventually win the set 15-13 with sheer grit and determination.

In the second set, the number 3 seeds from Singapore again took the lead however this time they managed to see the set through to win 11-7.

The match now tied at 1 set each with the Chinese pairing determined to win the match. Both players from China began to play extremely positive, and took a 10-1 lead! Xu Xin and Guo Yan won the third set 11-3.

The fourth set was tied at 5-5 with unforced errors by both teams. Xu Xin and Guo Yan cut out their errors and raced into a 10-6 lead, to eventually take the set 11-8.

The momentum was now in favour of the Chinese pairing as they demonstrated why they were the best pairing in the fifth set. Spectacular rallies by both teams were a crowd pleaser. Singapore gave their all, however on this occasion Xu Xin and Guo Yan seized the deal to win the set 11-8. Xu Xin and Guo Yan are the mix doubles champions at Asian Championships 2012! This is China's third medal at the games.
