Borussia Dusseldolf (Timo Boll, Patrick Baum & Christian Suss) defeated Angers Vaillante (Gionis Panagiotis, Josef Simoncik & Michel Martinez) in the ETTU Cup final - first leg today on the 5th May 2012 in an epic encounter.

The stadium had appropriately 3000 fans with the host arena going to Vaillante Angers for the first leg of this encounter.

Opening Match

Gionis Panagiotis defeated Patrick Baum in the opening match by 3 sets to 2 (8-11, 11-4, 11-7, 7-11, 11-8) which put Angers in a 1-0 lead.


Second Match

Timo Boll responded quickly and defeated Josef Simoncik in three straight sets (11-6, 11-6, 11-4) to level the match score.

Third Match

Christian Suss followed suit of fellow team mate Timo boll as he defeated Michel Martinez in three straight sets (11-3, 11-5, 11-5) to put Borussia Dusseldorf in a 2-1 lead.

Fourth Match

World number 6 Timo Boll returned to the arena and defeated Gionis Panagiotis by 3 sets to 1 (9-11, 11-6, 11-2, 11-4) to give Borussia Dusseldolf victory in the first leg of the ETTU Cup 2012 final!
