Stiga's Xu Xin is the new World Number 1 Table Tennis Player! (VIDEO)

China’s Xu Xin is the winner of the Men’s Singles title at the 2012 ITTF World Tour Grand Finals in Hangzhou in December 2012 and for the first time in his career he is at the top of the ranking as World number 1.

The left handed pen-holder who celebrated his 23rd birthday on Tuesday 8th January 2013 and has never been out of the top ten since March 2010 has had the most spectacular year in 2012 and has now taken over the first place from his colleague and Olympic champion Zhang Jike leaving Ma Long lying in third place.

A day with Stiga star Xu Xin!


China’s Wang Hao who was beaten by Xu Xin in the Hangzhou men’s singles final, remains at number 4 with Ma Lin at number 6 and Wang Liqin at number 9.

Meanwhile Germany’s leading man Timo Boll continues his place at number 6 however team mate Dimitrij Ovtcharov has a fall of one place as he changes places with Chinese Taipei’s Chuang Chih-Yuan leaving him at number 8 and Chuang Chih-Yuan at number 7 which is his highest ranking since December 2004.

Japan’s Jun Mizutani, Korea’s Joo Sauhyuk and Vladimir Samsanov of Belarus complete the top 12 names with Mizutani at 10 while Joo Sauhyuk and Vladimir Samsanov change places.
