The Ningbo team have ended the 2012/2013 Chinese super league as champions as they defeated Shanghai to take the winning title. With Ma Long being their lead player he was able to secure three points in the two legs of the final contributing winning points to the whole team. Ma Long commented “I am extremely happy as I was able to lead Ningbo to the championship title in 2009 and this season I am glad to repeat this success, I want to give special thanks to the club officials, team mates and people who supported us.”

It was said that although it was a 2-0 defeat for Ningbo the team were extremely lucky to win their first leg as Joo Sae Hyuk won the match in the last minute which deemed crucial for the winning team.
With Ningbo creating a superb 17 game winning streak, Ma Long also explained how he gave his all in every match and that there was no pressure meaning he was able to keep calm playing game after game.
