What the world has been waiting for! Today on the 18th February we will see a Ma Long and Zhang Jike showdown at the 2013 Kuwait Open ITTF World Tour! Recently, Ma Long and Zhang Jike have met on a few occasions in the Chinese Super League however not in a World Tour series for a long time. In fact. it was over a year ago at the Slovenian Open World Tour where Zhang Jike defeated Ma Long in a full seven sets.
In the Men's Singles semi finals saw an all Chinese affair battle out for a place in the final. It was all one way traffic in the opening semi final as Ma Long disposed compatriot and newly world number 1 Xu Xin in four straight sets with scores 11-5, 11-8, 11-6, 11-2. In the other semi final Wang Hao had some chances but struggled to make anything from them as Zhang Jike won in five sets with scores 11-8, 11-7, 9-11, 12-10, 11-4.
