On the 8th March, Timo Boll and Dimitrij Ovtcharov were called upon to represent Germany at the upcoming World Table Tennis Championships in Paris! The German National Team head coach Jorg Rosskopf released the full list! Followed by Boll and Ovtcharov is Bastian Stger, Patrick Baum, Christian Suss, Patrick Franziska and more. Jiaduo Wu leads the women's list and will be going to Paris in May 2013.

Men's Squad

Timo Boll and Dimitrij Ovtcharov both sit well inside the top 20 world rankings and therefore have an automatic place at the World Table Tennis Championships 2013. Germany have 5 players to select in the singles. The next top three selected are Bastian Steger, Christian Suss and Patrick Baum.

Patrick Franziska and Steffen Mengel both managed to squeeze in the German line up and will both take part in their first ever World Championships. Franziska has showed huge potential throughout the 2012 year winning the World Tour Grand Finals under 21's and gaining a senior world ranking of 45! Steffen has a world ranking of 159, however his superb performance in defeating Timo Boll last week in the German National Championships has earned himself a well deserved place in the squad.

Patrick Baum/Bastian Steger and Patrick Franziska/Steffen Mengel will represent Germany for the doubles competition!


Women's Squad

The German Head coach for the women's team Jie Schopp has selected six players with only five able to compete in the singles event. Sabina Winter will play women's doubles with Petrissa Solja and mixed doubles with Steffen Mengal.
