Seo Hyonwon Is This Years Women’s Singles Champion At The 2013 korean Open! (VIDEO)

Korea’s Seo Hyonwon who was seeded number twelve going into the 2013 ITTF World Tour Korean Air Korean Open has never previously been in a final of an international tournament, however the talented 25 year old was both the popular and surprise winner of the Women’s Singles event in Incheon on Sunday 7th April.

The final was to be a repeat of the women’s quarter-final event in the Times Property World Team Classic last week in Guangzhou however it was to have a different outcome.

Seo Hyonwon was met by Japan’s Kasumi Iahikawa who was the number three seed for the tournament; the pair had a dramatic seven set match (11-8, 5-11, 11-7, 9-11, 12-10, 5-11, 11-9) as Seo Hyonwon was able to clinch the title bringing her thrilled supporters to their feet.
