Today on the 2nd July China progressed to the finals of the 2013 Asian Championships defeating a determined Korean side. China's Ma Long, Xu Xin and Yan An took on Korea's Seo Hyun Deok, Lee Sang Su and Jung Young Sik in this epic duel.

In the quarter final stages China overcome India by 3 matches to 0 with Ma Long defeating Soumyajit Ghosh,
Fan Zhendong eliminating Sharath Kamal Achanta and Yan An overcoming Amalraj Anthony. In Korea's quarter final Lee Sang Su beat Gao Ning, Seo Hyun Deok defeated Yang Zi and Jung Young Sik dispatched Clarence Chew Zhe Yu.

China vs Korea - Semi Final

In the opening match host nations Seo Hyun Deok stormed into a 2-0 lead over recent China Open winner Ma Long! The crowd were behind the Korean all the way however the China man found strength to make a comeback and won 3-2.

In the second match of this semi final encounter Xu Xin took on Lee Sand Su. It had been reported earlier on in the week at TableTennisTa that Lee Sang Su really wanted to face Xu Xin. Xu Xin took no prisoners on this occasion and won in 3 straight sets with the last set leading with a 10-0 advantage.

In the third match Korea's Jung Young Sik played a blinder and destroyed China's Yan An in 3 sets to give Korea a point on the score board.

Ma Long under pressure at 2 sets down

Ma Long returned to the table in the fourth match with some relief defeating Seo Hyun Deok in his first match. However now Korea had turned the match into their momentum Lee Sang Su came flying out the blocks! The Korean player raced into a 2-0 lead, however similar to the first match Ma Long clawed his way back to victory advancing China into the finals of the Asian Championships!
