Today on the 3rd July the 2013 Asian Championships Men's Team Final took place in Busan, Korea. The men's team final was between the top two teams of Asia, China vs Japan! China's Ma Long, Xu Xin and Fan Zhendong took on Japan's Jun Mizutani, Kenta Matsudaira and Seiya Kishikawa.
Xu Xin 3-1 Jun Mizutani
In the opening match world number 1 Xu Xin faced Jun Mizutani. As always when these two fine players clash, spectacular rallies occurred to the delight of the spectators. Xu Xin was to strong throughout in the big rallies and was always able to have that extra edge over Mizutani and won the match by 3 sets 1 (13-11, 11-3, 6,11, 11-6).
Ma Long 3-0 Kenta Matsudaira
In the second match Ma Long met inform Kenta Matsudaira. kenta played superbly in the semi finals of this event putting Japan through to the finals defeating Chen Chien An in a close 5 set victory. On this day however the momentum swung in favour of Ma Long, defeating Kenta with ease in 3 sets (11-6, 11-4, 11-6) and giving China a 2-0 lead.
Fan Zhendong 3-2 Seiya Kishikawa
The World Junior Champion Fan Zhendong played the third match for China taking on Japan's Seiya Kishikawa. The match went to the wire in a full five sets with Fan going into a 2-0 lead. The Japanese player gave his all winning the next 2 sets however the China man found his strength and stormed the 5th set 11-2. The Chinese team swept Japan 3-0 making this China's eighth consecutive time winning the Asian Championships!
