Today on the 28th July the 2013 Chinese Super League round 9 took place with the almighty clash between Ma Long's Ningbo and Xu Xin's Shanghai. The Chinese Super League is now on the halfway stage, all clubs have played each other once. Full details with league table below:

In round 9 of the Chinese Super League Ma Long's Ningbo met Xu Xin's Shanghai, Shangdong's Zhang Jike took on Dimitrij Ovtcharov's Guangdong, Timo Boll's Jiangsu played Qiu Yike's Sichuan and Wang Hao's Bayi played Cuiqing Lei Bazhou.

Ningbo 1:3 Shanghai

Ma Long 3:2 Xu Xin (8:11, 11:7, 9:11, 11:4, 8:6)
Joo Se Hyuk 0:3 Shang-kun (5:11, 12:14, 7:11)
Ma Long/Lin Gaoyuan 1:2 Shang kun/Wang Liqin (5:11, 11:7, 1:7)
Joo Se Hyuk 1:3 Xu Xin (2:11, 14:12, 3:11, 4:11)

Table leaders Ningbo lost their first match of the season today as Shanghai's Xu Xin, Shang Kun and Wang Liqin gave out great performances. Ningbo won the opening match as world number 1 Ma Long defeated compatriot Xu Xin in a full five sets. Joo Se Hyuk was Ningbo's number 1 player on this occasion for team Ningbo and lost both matches against Xu Xin and Shang Kun. Wang Liqin teamed up with Shang Kun in the doubles and defeated Ma Long and Lin Gaoyuan which gave Shanghai the 3-1 victory. This win for Shanghai has made them tie at the top of the table with Ningbo.

Shandong 3:1 Guangdong

Zhang Jike 3:0 Yin Hang (11:8, 11:7, 13:11)
Zhang Chao 2:3 Dimitrij Ovtcharov (7:11, 10:12, 11:7,13:11, 3:7)
Zhang Chao/Wu Hao 2:0 Liu Jikang/Yin Hang (11:7, 11:5)
Zhang Jike 3:1 Dimitrij Ovtcharov (3:11, 11:7, 11:6, 11:9)

In the previous round Zhang Jike seemed to lack motivation with a 3-0 loss to Xu Xin. However this time around Zhang Jike pulled out two wins for his team defeating both Yin Hang and Dimitrij Ovtcharov. Dimitrij managed to get a point on the score board for Guangdong as he defeated in form Zhang Chao however this was not enough for the team to win today.

Match 1: Zhang Jike Yin Hang

Jiangsu 3:2 Sichuan

Ma Lin 2:3 Xu Ruifeng (11:5, 2:11, 11:8, 12:14, 1:7)
Timo Boll 3:0 Qiu Yike (11:8, 11:6, 11:9)
Chen Qi/Wu Jiaji 0:2 Wang Jianjun/Zhulin Feng (8:11, 9:11)
Ma Lin 3:1 Qiu Yike (11:13, 11:8, 11:7, 11:4)
Wu Jiaji 2:1 Zhulin Feng (12:10, 5:11, 7:4)

Ma Lin was picked as the number 1 player for team Jiangsu and lost the opening match to Xu Ruifeng in 5 sets. Boll managed to level the scores with a convincing win over Qiu Yike. Chen Qi and Wu Jiaji lost the doubles to Wang Hianjun/Zhulin Feng which put Sichuan into a 2-1 lead over the giants. However both Ma Lin and Wu Jiaji were able to win their next matches to give Jiangsu the victory.

Bayi 3:0 Bazhou

Zhou Yu 3:0 Cuiqing Lei (12:10, 11:8, 11:6)
Xu Chenhao 3:2 Liangjing Kun (11:2, 4:11, 11:6, 3:11, 7:2)
Zhou Yu/Fan Zhendong 2:0 Liangjing Kun/Fan Shengpeng (11:7, 11:6)

The younger generation of the Chinese National Team which play for team Bayi had no troubles today except in the doubles match which was a close 5 set duel. Young guns Zhou Yu, Xu Chenhao and Fan Zhendong won their matches to defeat Bazhou 3:0 and are certainly doing well in this years Chinese Super league and are in for a shot to become the China Super League Champions as they position 3rd on the league table.
