Recent years has seen a few changes with our sport table tennis, with the banning of Speed Glue in 2007 and the size of the ball change in the year 2000. This coming July will see the ITTF launch the new poly ball for International table tennis tournaments.

The new ball material have already been tested by the second tier of the Chinese National Team as the worlds strongest table tennis team prepare for the upcoming change.

The second tier of the Chinese National Team have been undergoing training with the new ball that will proceed in major tournaments on the official date of July 7th 2014. The China team have been training to avoid any disadvantages towards their players when the new ball has been put in place. A spokesman of the Chinese Team had this to say, "The second team have tried and tested the new ball and found one of the differences is the size. The new ball is slightly bigger. The biggest difference they found was the noise and reaction made when the ball made contact with the bat".

Chinese National Team head coach Liu Guoliang expressed, "I believe the new ball will have a great effect on table tennis and our team will come up with many ways to adapt".
