03/09/2011 - UMMC played maybe its best ECL game ever beating today French Pontoise 3:0 in first round of Group B. In nice UMMC`s "Sport Center" (capacity 3.000), in front of very loud fans, Russian club needed less than 90 minutes and just nine sets for the win. In each set guests didn’t take more than seven points except in last one when the youngest player in the game, Tristan FLORE took nine against Michael MAZE. French team played without its best player Adrien MATTENET.

This match was very important for two players which closed the match. The 2009 European champion Michael MAZE met 2011 European junior champion Tristan FLORE. That was the MAZE`s first ECL game after September 3rd of last year (today is same date!) when he beat Jan-Ove WALDNER (Fulda) in opening round of 2010-2011 ECL edition. Dan had many problems in last two seasons. First bad thing came in January 2010 when he received a leg`s injury (as a Roskilde`s player), missing rematch of the quarter final against Borussia.

Today he beat 16 year-old French hope FLORE who played his very first ECL game - 3:0 (11:6, 11:4, 11:9). The boy who took three medals in recent 2011 European Youth Championships in Kazan, showed strong character against 14 years older Dan. FLORE started well in all three sets, but former World`s no 8 didn’t allow him to come closer from the middle of the sets. In opening one FLORE equalled after MAZE`s 4:1 lead, but host after that took six points in a row (4:4, 10:4).

French boy started with 2:0 lead in second, but 30 year old Dan answered with several consecutive points. All points were very short and both tried to attack as fast as they can.
After MAZE`s 6:3 lead in third set, FLORE took time-out. That helped him to prolong the game. After his nice backhand, he equalled on 7:7 and than his nice serves brought him 9:7 lead.. But, Dan answered on same way, preparing points by good serves and finally took last points by excellent short backhand.
