Ma made full use of his serves to produce a strong third ball which opened the rally to his advantage. As the set progressed Ma Long led 10-6 with 4 match points. However, Chen managed to produced two incredible backhand flicks and forehands to level the score line at 10-10. Both players were very focused. Both players had one serve each at deuce. What more could the crowd ask for!

Ma Long served a short topspin ball to Chen's middle. Chen misread the serve and Ma executed his famous forehand winner! Chen Qi was now 11-10 down. The World number 12 served short, Ma long touched the ball short, and Chen Qi flicked the ball long!
