  • Hi there Tompa8888,

Thank you for asking my opinion. It has been a while since I played with TB Spirit or TB ALC, but I can summerize. Compared to the Spirit the Waldner is a stiffer blade, your flat shots will be more powerful and direct, but the control will be still very good. The bounciness of the Waldner is lower than the Spirit due to it's thick spuce outer plies. The Waldner will have definetly less vibrations and more speed, but this speed has a very big dynamical range from ALL+ to OFF, while Spirit is a nice OFF-. But if you use Appelgren WC '89 you will get a similar feeling with a bit more power. The sweetspot of the Waldner is way more bigger than the Spirit's. So I say that if you like your Appelgreen, this will be a nice upgrade in terms of speed, and Waldner WC'89 can be played like an ALL+ to OFF blade with very big variations. When I moved to this blade from a Spirit clone blade I loved it instantly and I could not go back after 2 weeks, they felt very different.
    Hey, I got a question.
I play with the Appelgreen world champion 89 + mx-p right now. I thinking of buying the Waldner champion edition that you have reviewed.
Do know how it is compared to the Boll Spirit??
