worst draw possible for Harimoto
He has to play Pitchford, Lin Yun Ju to reach the semifinal against FZD
On the other hand quite easy draw for Ma Long he's away from big treats like TH or LJJ.
It is strange that the 1st seed is paired with the 3rd and the 2nd is paired with 4th, usually it is 1vs4 and 2vs3.
So calderano and harimoto should have been switched

This is a bad draw for Harimoto wow. He has to face Lin Yun-Yu before the semifinal and Pitchford was a difficult opponent in the past as well. It couldn't get much worse for him. China has to face only one of the biggest threats in semifinal, Harimoto or Lin Yun-Yu. And for Ma Long it's almost a walkover into the final.
Japanese media glossing over the singles draw. 🤣 They just mention how Japan is lucky to be on the lower half of the bracket in MT.

Its not a walkover for MA Long. He's not the Ma Long of 2019 or 2017 or 2016.
Gauzy beated XU Xin in WTTC2019. Maybe he's going to surprise MA Long ?

Yes, Ma Long is not in his best form but he's still well prepared for the Olympic games. There is a chance for Dimitrji Ovtcharov to reach the semifinal, but unfortunately not for Timo. Harimoto could only reach the semifinal, I don't think right now he is able to win against FZD, he's never won officially against him (yes there was 2018 Asian cup but that time Fan lost on purpuose).
The event could be more interesting if only Harimoto and Hugo were switched...
players haven't played each other for 1 year. TBH i don't see who can beat FAN Zhendong if he's at his best both physically and mentally.
I think only LIN Yunju could challenge him a bit if this guy has a good start and is in a perfect day.

We all know how Harimoto handled an easy draw at WTTC 2019. A difficult draw is actually better for him. No easy way out. No relying on flute. If he could get past Pitchford, LYJ(Harimoto never lost except in the T.League, but H2H is useless for Olympics/WTTC) and FZD, then all the pressure will be on ML.
Let's not forget FZD has a difficult time handling JYS. FZD will want Boll to get past JYS, but if Boll does, then that will make Boll vs China in Olympic singles a first, which has never happened before. Hard to tell what will happen.
