I practice my serve and they are amazing. Low, spinny, good quality, etc. But when I'm in a match, it seems like my serve doesn't have the same quality. Why?

In my opinion, running around the backhand in favor of the forehand leaves too much of the table open. If you don't hit a clean winner from the forehand, then it's difficult to cover the open court....
What a excellent point!
Yep. Pretty much the same things going on. One thing I notice that I didn't see in the first video. Your backswing is incredibly short on most of your shots. Your guiding the ball a whole lot. You've...
I know the feeling. I'm normally in the club at least 5-6 days a week. And plenty of video analysis of other players that I try to incorporate into my game. BH flick (fan), bh (Liam/Ma Long)...before...
I'm still trying to get to 2000. lol Work has me tied up right now so I'm not practicing like I should. Although I did have flashes of brilliance in a non-sanctioned tournament here locally. Lost...
Glad you corrected it. Had me looking for cheap flights. Lol This is a great thread... Hope he gets to his goal.
My two cents:
1. Standing too tall (keep the feet further apart to get lower and drop you bottom) At 1:25 you see a prime example of not being low enough. You played a passive forehand. But if you...
As I choke on my coffee reading this. Did you just say French rating of 1350 is equivalent to 2000 US player? I haven't been to France in a long time. I'm going to make it a point to test that theory...
You are so right. Tons of information, equipment, the works! Well, looks like I'll be purchasing a lot of stuff. My wife is really going to like this one. Lol
So I'm thinking of building a few custom blades. I'm looking for some input from the custom blade guys here for finding and ordering materials.
Materials needed:
Wood veneers
Wood for core...
I've been playing for a few years now and I've noticed that during my matches I sometimes get in the habit of using a few serves during a match. The closer the score, the fewer serves I feel...
I've been looking for the ultimate alternative rubber to Tenergy 05 which is like the Holy Grail of table tennis rubbers. After a lot of experimenting and money spent. I think I've found it. Forehand...
Great questions.
What made me change the composition? Well, as I started out. I wanted a 4 wood + 1 composite blade. Similar to the Hurricane Hao 3 blade. I just wanted to change the Koto...
This blade is amazing! Touch, control...amazing. It doesn't have the throw off the DHS Long 5 which for me increases the accuracy of my shots. I played today with DHS Hurricane 3 on my forehand and...
I really don't know. You'll have to ask Dab about the wood in the handle. I hit around today with the Naresh brothers. They are up and coming juniors here in the US (14 yr old Sid 2300 and 12 yr old...

Bobpuls I think you solved a mystery for me.
Some time ago I bought both a Coronado 145 and 190. While playing my partner and I noticed a horrible cracking sound when I would hit my power shots....
Intersting. I've seen this done before with the Carbonado series from Stiga. The 90, 190, 290 series all have the carbon traditionally aligned at a 90 degree angle. While the 45, 145, and 245 all...
12-13 blades. Oh my goodness. I'd have to literally burn or give away the previous blade. Why? Because I'd keep going back retrying previous models and never make any progress.

:D
Ok. So you've graduated from ordering customized blades to actually crafting them. My wife would have a fit of I started moving wood working equipment in!! The way my mind works I would be so fixated...
You owe me for that. I'm sending the contract now. If I see one blade mass produce with poxy protection I'm blaming you. Oh, my bad... this is a public forum. Me and my big mouth
You guys are awesome! Critical yet kind. Excellent advice and analytics. But, I can't wait to see me and my blade crushing all of you nay sayers :p Or I'll be back with my humble pie greedily...
Thousands of dollars? Well, at least i know what I'm in for. I actually have another idea already. Lol This is going to be so much fun.
