I was just posting one pic to get the games started. I'm documenting the build but my idea was to make a thread once it's complete.

Started working on this today. Told you I was going to use Ebony [emoji846] Lot's of work ahead, too late to turn back now......
No need to ask questions on my part, I know exactly what to do 🙂
You can count me in. Time to finally put that ebony board to good use 😁
I've always been a DIY kind of guy. About 3 years ago I returned to TT after a 5 year hiatus and found that the ball changed...
Yes, the medial ply matters a lot. It affects hardness, rebound, lateral and torsional stability (sweetspot) and feedback. But in this case there is a much simpler explanation: your premise is wrong....
Looking forward to this :)
I don't think he scammed anybody, or at least that it was his intention. And of course it was only my opinion, based on facts, but still just my opinion. Manufacturers use the term ALC loosely, and I...
Diolen is softer so it does everything a little less. Less speed, smaller sweetspot, but it can give more control depending on the perspective. It also feels a little different, not so dynamic and...
I'm guilty of using this in the beginning without knowing what it really was. After I found out I stopped calling it ALC and just use the real name. I still use it from time to time. The darker blue...
Medial ply is most definitely Limba, but the Viscaria doesn't have a Limba medial and that's not ALC. That's "chinese ALC" aka Diolen-Carbon, many manufactures use and knowingly or unknowingly call...
Nice that you mentioned that because I was totally forgetting about Cedars. Yes, they are a good option and the next best thing along with cypress. It's all about finding good boards for that, but I...
As I've said, one ply blades behave differently. There are a lot more variables to build a good, or at least playable, one ply. Firstly you need stiffness in all directions to have sufficient...
I'm not gonna get into the whole one ply blade thing because they behave a little differently, but I just want to clear up a misconception. A 7 ply blade is not stiffer than a equivalent 5 ply of the...
It's not the worst looking one :)

I normally have that prerequisite but in this case he had a good reputation on Mytt and we even had some mutual acquaintances so I thought I could trust him. I think something must've happen that...
He commissioned a inner zlc blade from me and had a few requests. I sent him a PayPal invoice for payment but he never done it and kept giving excuses. I found his behavior suspicious so I never sent...
Apparently he scammed a few people on Mytt and also tried to scam me (and sort of did...)

Cleanest edges I've seen on a Balsa blade, very nice.
It was not meant as a sales pitch, just trying to demystify some aspects of custom blades. Of course if you choose to go that route I will be glad to help.
I don't like promoting my work on another threads but this just spreads a message that custom blades are luxurious products only affordable to big wallets, which is not true. I could, or any other...
I love it how LJK is messing with people's minds :D
If there is a difference in bounce and pitch on a blade bounce test, then surely there will be a difference in playing. Sometimes these differences are subtle with the bare blade, but can be felt...
Nice. Did you notice a difference in bounce between sides?
Very solid. It weighs 96.6g, which is fine for me because I'm finding I prefer to play with heavy blades.
That is a neat feature. That's one blade that I probably wouldn't let go off.
And I'm really jealous of that Redwood, it has a really nice grain pattern and color!
