Thanks for the update Wrighty67. I've been following this thread and was wondering how things would turn out between you and your coach.

Well, I noticed he is sporting a knee band on his right knee.

If you don't have problems with your feet or knees, yeah, I would tend to agree almost any sport shoe will do, but if one has foot/ankle joint/tendon issues I disagree. Athletic shoes can vary...
I have found the ASICS Gel Tactic 2 to be a better shoe, for me, than the Gel Rocket. The former provides better shock absorption, support, and traction.
Here's a video review of the Gel Tactic 2...
I know your comment was tounge-in-cheek, but I'm glad somebody else noticed the attire...Not to mention a collared shirt and long-sleeved sweater.
To each his own of course, but I would never...
Heh... Absolutely. In the vid below player in gray is rated just over 2100.

You are not alone. I have watched 100's of TT videos with various accents. I have found none of them objectionable... except for the robot voices. I actually enjoy hearing the various accents.

In Japan there is "Large Ball" that uses a 44 mm ball and inverted rubber is not allowed. Paddles must be pips out (I believe).
It's rather popular there.

Care to explain in the video where we are advised to take a step/bounce back just before the opponent strikes the ball? Seems too ambiguous to me. Each and every time, regardless of context? I don't...
Like doctors a good coach is hard to find and can make all the difference.
He's just jealous that he's got no ballz.
Haha... I started at the top of the thread and read a post where someone wrote, "The others are always complayning about their rubbers durability, and I have my Tenergy 05 rubbers since August 2014...
Thanks for reporting back! Glad to hear you like the shoe. I was surprised to read you had almost an inch of clearance up front. Hopefully those size 14's arrive! I was very pleasantly surprised to...
The Gel Rocket 14 was fine for me as well. Plenty of room.
You should be able to return them if they don't fit, provided you don't use them.
So did you purchase the shoes? If so, please post...
Interesting. They were in stock not too long ago, but I see almost every size is out of stock at the moment.
I had tried the Gel-Tactic 2 in size 14 and it was too small. The 15 fit after a bit of a...
I used to use Asics Gel Rockets in size US 14. I recently switched to ASICS Gel-Tactic 2 (US size 15). I find it has better cushioning/support and traction. However, if your feet are wide, the Gel...
What's the name of that club?
Thanks... can you tell me the name of the club/center?
Was it ping-pong ba or the Sugamo sports center?
Which club or community center was this at? (Yeah, I realize this was back in August.)
Thanks Baal. Really helpful (including the Annals of Internal Medicine article).
Just from my own observations it didn't make sense. I was almost ready to go back to playing table tennis. *sigh*
Is this legit?????

Thx for your response Baal. I was wondering whether it could be refined. And I am pretty sure I would not want to experience a 104 degree fever! If the odds were lower, as it is for the side effects...
Thanks for the response. Phase II should be interesting.... That's a brave 84 year old! ;)
Was reading through the paper linked above and noticed the following regarding side effects of the vaccine:
Between 42% and 56% of the participants reported a fever. Between 6 and 17% reported a...
