Id say it’s medium hard but my play style is mostly off the bounce close to the table but my coach tells me that I should learn a more powerful backhand from farther back

You are probably looping too "up" instead of foward to compensate for the lower arc
That would probably benefit you more than sticking with a carbon blade..
Using wood blade teaches you to apply more power to get the same speed as carbon.. so, when you switch to carbon, your loops...
