Yeah, ‘hidden’ does imply that if even the smallest part of the ball can be seen, then the serve is good!!

So to clarify, the throw ends when the ball makes contact with the bat, and as long as the whole ball is visible at contact then the serve is good. The bat is not an issue.

I think the rule is that both the ball AND bat should be visible at point of contact. Which is a very short amount of time!!
