  1. Tibhar Drinkhall Allround & Offensive Classic Blade Review

Hi Anchorschmidt, Of course you try to disguise your strokes to give your opponent as little time to react as possible. Yes it's something that I practiced a lot many years ago and still do to this day, things like backhand to backhand switch and irregular footwork drills help to develop this!
  2. Tibhar Drinkhall Allround & Offensive Classic Blade Review

I wouldn't mind seeing Wang Liquin's forehand from this angle either Anchorschmidt ;-) One of the most deadly strokes in the history of the game!!
  3. Tibhar Drinkhall Allround & Offensive Classic Blade Review

Hi TTHopeful, yes the difference is quite big, the Offensive is faster and has a different feeling. The Allround is really nice to play with as it is a little slower and you get so much control due to the increased dwell time of the ball on the blade!
  4. Tibhar Drinkhall Allround & Offensive Classic Blade Review

Hi Kaiwen, I was playing with the Samsonov Stratus Carbon when I first signed to TIBHAR, now I'm using my own TIBHAR Paul Drinkhall Power Spin Carbon blade. Me and Dan will be reviewing it soon!
  5. Tibhar Drinkhall Allround & Offensive Classic Blade Review

Thanks to Dan and TableTennisDaily for reviewing two of my three signature blades with me, we had a great time making the video - Dan taught me that last shot there at the end, the behind the back super smash, I owe it to him ;-)
  6. Tibhar Drinkhall Range 2015

Hi Olio, of course the composition is important but different woods react differently when combined with different woods - if you take my meaning! I always test a blade to see the feeling for myself, and see how well balanced it is. Glad you like the design, low key and 'classic' was the idea...
  7. Tibhar Drinkhall Range 2015

Hi NextLevel, yes the Power Spin Carbon is my personal model which I'll be using. We developed two offensive blades as some players like a fast attacking blade but without the carbon feel. The offensive classic is one that I'd use if I wasn't the type of player who liked carbon, if that makes...
  8. Tibhar Drinkhall Range 2015

Haha well I was keen to not have a blade that was too 'overstated' in design. I liked a classic look, rather than something too flashy. And we spent a lot of time going backwards and forwards in the testing process of how the blades actually play, especially the Power Spin Carbon as that's the...
  9. Tibhar Drinkhall Range 2015

Hi NextLevel - We'll be reviewing the Power Spin Carbon soon. I've been testing and tweaking this with the TIBHAR development team now for a good while. It's not too far away from the Samsonov Stratus Carbon blade no, similar construction - just slightly different, adjusted to my preference...
  10. Tibhar Drinkhall Range 2015

Have a go with one of them Liten, hoepfully you will either like the way they look but more importantly the way they play ;-)

Hi Brookerbig, thanks for the message - in all honesty they are both suitable for both the plastic and celluloid ball. Try not to think to much about the ball and practice and adjust to it, that is what's most important. I played with MX-P with both plastic and celluloid and for me it worked...
  12. Congratulations in Order !

Thank you very much to all of you for your good wishes, we are all doing fine and the sleepless nights are OK so far! Thanks alot from us both!
  13. Ask Paul Drinkhall a question!

Hi Slevin - thank you, mother and baby Douglas both doing well! Thank you for the compliment on my footwork, my coach Jia Ya Liu spent lots of time instilling good footwork technique with me through multi ball and hard regular and irregular footwork exercises when I was a young cadet and junior...
  14. Paul Drinkhall Reviews.... TIBHAR Evolution FX-P

Hi Leorozas - thanks, glad it helped! It's a really good option if you want to try that style of play, hope it works for you!
  15. Ask Paul Drinkhall a question!

Hi TTournaments - no problem, the slight difference was that Applegren played it with much more variation, sometimes more topspin and sometimes flatter, and then of course more attacking also, he would physically loop the ball with speed from this distance as well rather then just play...
  16. Ask Paul Drinkhall a question!

Hi Anchorshmidt - Thanks for the comment! I agree on the fact that the penhold grip is used much less now due to less coaches teaching this style. What I slightly disagree on are the other points. In the late eighties and early nineties European players learned that attacking the backhand of a...
  17. Ask Paul Drinkhall a question!

Hi TTournaments - yes, this is common. It gives you time to look for the counter topspin if you are out of position, that extra time to then move into a proper position is vital. It is not a 'baloon defence' as you say, it is different to this. The ball is played with some topspin, so it kicks...
  18. Paul Drinkhall Reviews.... TIBHAR Evolution FX-P

Hi Olio - I'll certainly pass on your thoughts to TIBHAR. They are always looking for innovations to add to the existing range. I guess it will come down to what size market they they think there is for this type of blade and handle, will enough people like it! Lets hope so? Cheers.
  19. Ask Paul Drinkhall a question!

Hi Ivelin888 - thanks for the question! This is a dilemma I have seen a lot of players face. It seems some players do seem to have a natural timing point that is 'later' than others - meaning the seem to like to let the ball before playing it, it is innate to them. Also, some players have a lot...
  20. Paul Drinkhall Reviews.... TIBHAR Evolution FX-P

Hi Olio - yes that's what I try to do, not everyone has the luxery of being able to practice every day! I think lots of players would benefit and enjoy playing sometimes with softer sponges. Of course, it also depends what blade the rubbers are combined with... this can make all the difference...
