  1. Do indoor soccer shoes suffice for table tennis shoes

I assume the person who asked the question already bought some shoes, as its a 6 year old thread. That being said, in my limited experience, indoor soccer (futsal) shoes are better developed for Western larger and wider feet than (even more) niche indoor sports as TT.
  2. TableTennisDaily vs Pongfinity | BIGGEST MATCH EVER!

Excellent content, great points, well done guys! (y)
  3. Why it is hard for umpires to call hidden serves

@Gozo Aruna This is not going to be about TT but more about life in general. 'Suck it up like a man.' and its equivalents 'be the bigger person' or 'be the adult', are always used because the third person wants to avoid conflict (between you and the 2nd person). Underlying point is thay a happy...
  4. Why it is hard for umpires to call hidden serves

In the clip of Timo it seems to me that he is complaining about the angle of the throw, not the hiddenness of the serve? The commentators seem to think so at least. And that angle is allowed by the rules (up to 30 degrees from vertical), so no error from the umpire.
  5. ITTF/WTT problems reported from players

I don't really understand the "more money would fix everything" argument or the "YouTube is the solution" idea. Nothing would change for the better. Why would it? What would happen if the sport was more popular? Perhaps a different organization would rival WTT. Eventually the new one might...
  6. Someone put up a vid of my OLD Korean TT Club - new location

Looking good, already wearing the brand new Xiom shirts.
  7. Sanwei Fextra & Chinese Rubbers on AliExpress

Playa PingPong Store is reliable. I buy rubbers and glue there. They have stock in Europe and so shipping is usually less than 2 weeks to me (Netherlands). They are also easy with restitution. They once sent me 3 wrong hardness rubbers, and when I filed a complaint I got my money back so I got...
  8. Help!!! I'm being bullied!!!

By your description I am assuming you play Barbarian. If you Rage you gain resistance to bludgeoning damage, and of course you can pummel the ball through your opponent with additional damage. Since you said you got a new feat, I am going to assume you have your subclass feature already, dont...
  9. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

I wasn't trying to make a point for or against pips. I just wanted to clear up a potential misunderstanding. To answer your question, personally that sounds like fun.
  10. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

The text in that animation litterally says that the stroke reduces the amouny of spin on the ball. So while your topspin gets returned as backspin by the LP, it is less spin than what you gave it. Of course if you gave it topspin from hell, it'll still be a lot of backspin you get back. The...
  11. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

Just stop with the gay joke already. 10% of the world is gay, and so is the TT community. Be more respectful.
  12. ITTF/WTT problems reported from players

I'm so glad everyone sticking up for poor old ITTF. Need to show documents that you're pregnant or else get fined? Of course, because you are their employee and it's in the contract. Need to drop your league games to travel around the world? Of course, you can also choose to not do...
  13. fixing the bad habit of straightening the upper body during looping

While implementing the techniques mentioned here you will probably still stand up a great deal more than you think you do, because your feeling for height isn't good. For immediate feedback have someone stand next to you and hold their hand (or broomstick or whatever..) above your head in a way...
  14. What table tennis players are mentally strong and what table tennis players are very weak mentally

Genuine question: what is in your opinion mentally strong? If it's for school it's probably good to define what is and isn't mentally strong. In this thread I see a number of ideas you can use: Emotion during games: 1. Keeping emotions under control, and 2. Not showing any emotion at all. (I...
  15. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

Oh abstract human physchology, I'm in. Imo this (quote) is a too narrow iew. "You only get..." To get definitions out of the way: moral conflict comes before the decision/choice/moment of truth, not afterwards. Afterwards there's pride or regret and such. So in extention, everyone...
  16. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

Yeah but sponsored athletes always get the best gear before everyone else, to build the hype and boost sales etc. In football sponsored players for example got shoes with build in spring soles (Adidas Predator) to shoot much harder. And when the shoes finally end up in the store, it's not the...
  17. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

Definitely. Maybe much moreso than boosting. If I understand correctly, boosting is a soluable process that turns solid sponge into liquid and adding air pockets. As the oil very slowly evaporates, the dissolved sponge particles become solids again, squeezed in the shrinking sponge. That's less...
  18. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

This seems a bit harsh. It's not Vipers fault that the rule exists in its current form. I like Vipers adherence to clean logic, I was just late to like his posts ;) This discussion is about many things at once: - Is boosting allowed? - Is rubber cleaning allowed? - Is the rule clear? - Is the...
  19. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

Unless you partake in corporate espionage, you can't prove you 'restored' it to factory spec or made something new altogether. So you'd need to get LARC approval for this new invention. And yes, also every time you sweat on it. :)
