  1. Replacement recommendations for broken 50 year old Stiga 2000 blade

Please can I have recommendations for a replacement blade after my 50 year old Stiga 2000 blade broke. It currently has Vega X 1.8m on the forehand and nitaku factive 1.8m on the backhand. I have tried my rubbers on an Infinity VPS V but found it too fast.
  2. Change blade or backhand rubber?

Yes it was too fast and difficult to control heavy spin serves hence I use Factive which gives me more control, I need another suitable blade as back up as stiga 2000 showing signs of wear after 45 years
  3. Change blade or backhand rubber?

Update after 18 months of competative play, I'm now playing a good standard in 2 leagues which is remarkable after a 40 year layoff. Next year I could end up playing in the Premier league so I wanted some more advice on rubbers and blades. After avice from this site I stuck with my 45 year old...

  6. Back in the game, but need advice

Thank you for the advice, your right I chose the factive rubber to give me more control, I've been playing with it for over a year but have noticed my back hand returns being more inconsistent lately as I'm playing much better players, I will look at the blade you mentioned.
  7. Back in the game, but need advice

Hi after a 40 year absence I started playing league table tennis last year.As you can imagine the equipment has changed a lot and after advice from TTD and based on my playing style I retained my original Stiga 2000 blade and started with vega x 1.5 on my forehand which I'm ok with but I'm using...

  9. Returning to TT after 35 years

Bbudget around £50 for the blade and around £35 for each side of rubber which is roughly what I paid for my shriver 5 years ago (but didn't end up using it until very recently and they seem very bouncy now so having problems blocking and counter hitting.
  10. Returning to TT after 35 years

Thanks, which Xiom Vega do you mean there are 4 on Teeside at 1.8m (I don't want them too bouncy or difficult to control, as my shriver rubbers were replaced 5 years ago but never used and they are 1.5m) Vega X Vega Euro Vega Tour Vega Pro these range from £35 to £45 per sheet
  11. Returning to TT after 35 years

I was thinking of spending around £50 for a blade and around £30-40 per side of rubber. My existing shriver rubber is 1.5m, i like to feel the rubber so I've always stayed clear of 2mm thickness in the past as found them difficult to control and return strong spin services. I was thinking of a...
  12. Returning to TT after 35 years

Tthanks for the response but can you recommend some blades for around £50 that I could look at. In the UK if I bought new shriver d13L they are about $30-40 but from what I've read there are better rubbers out there for this money, but which ones and I was thinking of going for a faster rubber...

Hi, i have just rediscovered my love of TT after nearly 35 years and urgently need to update my equipment both blade and rubbers. To give you an idea my current setup is a Stiga 2000 blade and butterfly shriver rubber d13 on both sides, i did say it had been a longtime. I need recommendations on...
