  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I had a practice session with the LP Cpen player yesterday, it was pretty exhausting, but got some great work in looping no spin and heavy, floaty backspins on both sides. Today I was debating whether to play round robin at the Alameda club since I'm pretty tired, but decided to go at the end...

So what did you do? I have some problems with fast pushes to the BH as well.
  3. Li ning shoes

I have the Ma Long shoes, accidentally ordered half a size too small so not using them as much. Compared to my Mizuno Wave Drives they're heavier but better cushioned. Performs pretty well, but can't comment on longevity.
  4. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Ah that sucks, hopefully nothing was broken!
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I do suspect so as well. It may also not be productive to train to react purely by watching the ball. I'll stick to the current training for now, make sure I can execute a good shot against varying degrees of spin and speed on both FH and BH in succession, and see how it affects my game play.
  6. Mizuno shoes

I second this. Used my previous Wave Drive for 3 years, have used my current one for 1 year and going. Comfortable, light, long lasting. Before that I had used a cheaper pair of Yasaka TT shoes. Everyone's feet are different though, so can't promise you'd like it, but I'm sticking to them.
  7. Taiga Bernadette Szocs price ??

Ah I see, nevertheless the Butterfly gravy train probably helps PP stay in business.
  8. Taiga Bernadette Szocs price ??

Since Butterfly dominates the market and has pretty uniform pricing, and PP is a Butterfly dealer while TT11 and Dandoy are not, I would imagine that's how PP can remain in business. Plus, when you're not bulk buying most of the items' price differences aren't that much, worth it for a lot of...

Had another short session today, went really well this time! I was doing +5 sequentially down to 0 then repeat. By the end of the practice actually lost track of where I was in the sequence and was still making the shots, just instinctively adjusting to the differing pace/spin. I did a little...
  10. Amazing supplement for motor neuron improvements.Faster TT.

I haven't tried microdosing, though I don't doubt that psychotropic medications, natural or otherwise, can have a very real effect on people. Depending on the person, it can be positive or negative. For example, I smoked some weed once with my friend and then showed him my TT robot. I...
  11. Improvement vs temporary feeling?

So very true. I see many players just play matches all day long and never improve, because their objective every match is to win and not to improve something. I only do that against higher level players I'd never or almost never beat. In that case what I'm practicing is putting everything...
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I was pretty exhausted after soccer today so just had a short, simple practice. Just balls from +5 down to 0 spin, made sure I could execute an attack on each one individually, then a set of alternating +5 and no spin balls. It went much better than yesterday. I was still too early or late to...
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yeah, I'm gonna have to practice against all the spin variations as well. What you're saying is exactly right. This discovery really explains so much. For example, in the tournament last weekend, it explains why I couldn't adjust to the JPen twiddler. He switches to his red rubber after...
  14. Is there a standard head size?

Yeah that's more important to me as well. The top affects both the weight balance and the reach, whereas I don't use the very end of the wings very often.
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yeah, I'll have to practice some more against those. I'm having particular issues with banana flicking reverse spin services to the wide FH. I think the main issue given that my stroke is fairly basic right now is that the ball curves to my right and I'm not stepping far enough right to hit...
  16. Is there a standard head size?

You can't really describe the head shape by just 2 linear numbers though. A rubber cut to Viscaria is about the same weight as one cut to the HL5, for example, despite being ~3mm shorter. This is because the Viscaria's wings are much bigger due to the much more gradual taper down to the handle.
  17. Dignics 05 1.9 or 2.1?

Perhaps it's the "trained" part that made the difference rather than the setup.
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

For me, the issue is really the timing more than anything. On the simple alternating heavy spin/no spin drill, I constantly hit the edge of the racket with the heavy spin while whiffed or reached for the no spin ball. I knew exactly which ball is coming, and I could loop them with great power...
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I had quite a revelation the past couple of days. I've been having some issues attacking the return from my long fast services with my BH, so I practiced that against my training partner yesterday. It went fine when I used the counter against it, but I whiffed a LOT when I tried to loop. So...

Idk if the shoe thing is from the weight transfer though. My TT shoes are always worn on the inside portion, but I think that's mostly due to left/right movement.
