  1. How do you boost your Hurricane 3 Neo?

What glue are you using? I have no issues gluing H3N after 3 layers of booster on a sealed blade. On an unsealed blade like the Viscaria it stays perfectly on even after almost 2 months (on sealed blades any rubber boosted or unboosted it would still come off after about 1 month).
  2. Glue quantity in ml per rubber

Yes, good points. I should note that my measurements were on a sealed blade which doesn't absorb much glue. I've since stopped using the syringes (it's a mess, and difficult for the short syringes to get glue out of the bottle) and switched to the Viscaria, which doesn't require sealing. The...
  3. Glue quantity in ml per rubber

Each layer is about 1.5-2ml, but that probably depends somewhat on the glue as well. If you do 2 layers on the rubber and 1 on the blade that comes out to be about 5-6ml as you need to consider the glue soaked up by whatever you use to spread the glue (e.g. a sponge). I used to try to go for...

My issue with the down the line shot has been mostly a timing issue. I need to wait just a tad bit more or get my body a tad bit more forward to increase consistency and power.
  5. Heard about this lately.... SYS vs CM

Ma Lin was CM's coach back then, he became the women's team head coach in '22. Li Sun was the women's HC back then and there's a picture in my post of him after CM's win.
  6. Heard about this lately.... SYS vs CM

The atmosphere is created by the fans, not by a handful of CNT members. Your eyes are certainly not lying if your complaint is regarding the unusually cold and cruel treatment of CM by the fans. I explained why the fans are not happy that CM won, I wouldn't be surprised that some of them...
  7. Heard about this lately.... SYS vs CM

There was nothing abnormal about the CNT reaction at all. Here are there reactions after other Olympic gold victories: CM vs. SYS in Tokyo: ML vs. FZD in Tokyo: FZD vs. Moregard in Paris: I could not find pictures of the CNT observers in the Rio videos. ZJK vs. WH in London: LXX vs. DN...

Yeah, I need to be mindful of recovery, can't suffer setbacks while trying to improve too quickly. There are so many things I feel like I need to practice, it's endless, but my body just can't handle the amount that I'd like to do and have time to do. I'm forcing myself to take a break today. I...

Yes, this is the alternative shot I'm gonna explore compared to what @blahness mentioned. Both would require me to move forward quicker, but his would be more spin based, perhaps more suited for balls that are a bit shorter and I need more of an arc to land, but yours perhaps can be done against...

Hmm, I'm gonna try that, treating it like a banana flick. My BH flick against topspin is pretty solid now, with the caveat that somewhat ironically I have trouble flicking reverse spins to the opponent's FH. I think maybe it's because I don't get to the right side of the ball enough? Not sure...

I just had an exhausting few days of sports. For one, I'm on day 13 of a 17 straight day stretch of work with a night shift mixed in, so haven't really been able to sleep as much as I'd like. For two, due to scheduling issues, I had my most exhausting sports days of the week, soccer and weekly...
  12. Hurricane 3 neo

Sure, our bodies place a limit on us, but just look at the paralympians and see how well they can play with their limitations. These two ladies would probably kick my butt: On our board @NextLevel has two pretty bad knees but he's always interested in learning and is always looking for ways...
  13. Hurricane 3 neo

That depends on how you train/learn. I've seen plenty of players with eurojap rubbers who fail to develop after many years. Based on my experience, the only thing that matters for growth is willingness to train and willingness to learn.
  14. Hurricane 3 neo

If you need more consistency, then work on consistency. Nothing else matters in the long run. If you change equipment, it'll probably slow down your development by a couple weeks, but it won't matter in the long run. A slower setup may give you a temporary boost in consistency, a faster one...
  15. Clean ball opponent vs Junky opponent

Yeah I've practiced against them a good amount the past couple of weeks, both the FH and BH. Against the high ones it's easy to just hit through them, the low ones were giving me a lot of problems. On the BH side I've found it helpful to brush forward and depress the curve a lot, much like a...
  16. Clean ball opponent vs Junky opponent

It's not really the power that's an issue, it's the arc. Without spin to borrow it's a bit harder to spin up the ball. Against topspin you can hit more and brush less, against backspin you can really brush and the ball will still drop. Against no-spin though you brush hard and it goes out, you...
  17. Clean ball opponent vs Junky opponent

The issue for me is that I usually train against heavy spins, but lower level players often give me these deadish balls that I'd like to attack strongly but have no spin to borrow. I've started incorporating some training against less spinny balls and that's been helping.
  18. How much booster do the pro CNT members use?

Yeah don't do that, you should glue them within ~24 hrs of the last layer of application, and you can apply each subsequent layer as soon as the previous layer is absorbed.
  19. Where to hold left hand when you BH Loop?

I think you're supposed to just use your off hand to balance. Like when you're stepping forward to reach for a short ball you have your off hand behind, if you're doing a "tear" stroke BH topspin your off hand "tear" to the left to counterbalance. I haven't really found it super necessary though.

I think the transition step helps. If you look at the pros play in slowmo, they never stop bouncing on their feet. Even if you're not actually moving, hopping in place helps to load your legs to move quickly. I use it in training when I have the ball frequency set high. It can feel a little...
