  1. Who invented Ping Pong?

I don't agree with the access theory. Yes, soccer is a very easy game to pick up and learn. It's got simple rules and can be played almost anywhere. But if you go to China there are PP tables everywhere. Outside in parks, in every school from preschool to Universities, community centers and...
  2. Who invented Ping Pong?

Dude you are way over analyzing this. Far east Asians have no intent of making it purposely sound childish or any other agenda. They just call it PP because it was a cute sounding name and it stuck. There is no underlying agenda to change the image of TT or PP. Just as simple as that.
  3. Who invented Ping Pong?

I seriously doubt in Asia they purposely call it PP to belittle the sport. In China the other name for TT is "Guo Chiu" which means "national sport". How can that possibly be demeaning?
  4. Who invented Ping Pong?

Obviously you don't live in US. If you compare TT in the US to all the other sports that people play TT is probably not even in the top 20. It is mostly looked at as a basement sport. Some times when new people come to my club for the first time they are the king of their family basement...
  5. Who invented Ping Pong?

I know you agree and I'm just agreeing more. lol I'm just addressing it to people that can't seem to accept that PP and TT are the same game and doesn't matter what you call it. There is no basement name nor professional name. It's just too bad that in the US it's not that popular yet...
  6. Who invented Ping Pong?

Just watch any interview that Ma long did. He only refers the sport as ping pong. He's never said anything close to table tennis. For that matter ask anyone in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan what they call it. It's only called one name.
  7. Who invented Ping Pong?

Exactly what I was going to say. If you ask Ma Long what sport he plays I guarantee you he will say Ping Pong and not table tennis. People like to make up shit like saying "Table Tennis" is an elite sport. Well it's the same thing just one is branded like Carl said. It's an urban myth that...
  8. Hammond Z2 compared to Fastarc G1

The main difference I feel between the two is that I can flip BH easier with the Z2. It's more grippy on soft shots.
  9. Yinhe Jupiter 3 Amazing Rubber

I'm a big fan of Dragon grip too but it's a little pricey and sometimes can be hard to find. So far my search for a replacement has been down to V22 and K3.
  10. China Table Tennis Super League-2022

Seems like Chen Meng has been losing more lately.
  11. What rubbers to change to?

I use K3 and it's got good spin and power. I like it for my FH since it's a little hard.
  12. China Table Tennis Super League-2022

I think you mean mesomorph body type.
  13. Celluloid balls are back???

The "recycling" industry is a politically motivated, half assed attempt. It really needs more regulation and standards. Unfortunately celluloid is a hazardous material and can't be easily shipped. So it's back to ABS the lesser of two evils.
  14. New Cybershape from STIGA

I think the new shape does have more surface area but I don't usually hit on those edges. So it wouldn't make much of a difference for me. I've played with the Cybershape and it didn't help me one way or another. Looking back at when Prince made the oversized tennis racket it had a much...
  15. Celluloid balls are back???

Thanks for the insight. It's good to know that the ABS is almost infinitely recyclable. I just have a question about the celluoid. Is that non recyclable? It seems they are very fragile/volatile so they would quickly melt.
  16. New Cybershape from STIGA

I don't agree with that. BF came out with a new fiber material made of wood. I haven't tried it yet but it's new technology. Stiga has only changed the shape and came up with a big marketing push. But the actual composite technology is not that new.
  17. New Cybershape from STIGA

It looks like Stiga is going down market from the original. The new blades look like they're slower and cheaper for less advanced players.
  18. 5 Things Table Tennis Players Hate

Playing long pips is like fumbling in the dark. You struggle and struggle until you flip on the light. Once you learn how to lift chop consistently the lights will come on. Once the light is on you will never turn it off and know how to play LP. Just remember LP cannot dictate spin. They...
  19. 5 Things Table Tennis Players Hate

Yes, I hate that. People who won't hit to you properly during warm up even though I hit it to them in the exact same spot. I used to think they didn't have enough control but during the game they have plenty of accuracy.
  20. Anyone tried Victas V>22 yet?

Sorry I've never tried V>15. I can only compare to Hammond Z2 and Dragon grip.
