  1. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

Was really important from Mizutani, they would have Harimoto in the last game but in a decider everything can happen under immense pressure. No singles+doubles loss from Harimoto in the team event, not that bad after all.
  2. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

Togami made good progess and I would have preferred him over Niwa for sure. COVID made it hard for these young players because almost all world tour tournaments were cancelled last and this year. I don't see how they can win against Korea, they have to rely on two Harimoto wins once again which...
  3. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

Niwa isn't good enough to win against Ovtcharov, I doubt they can win against Korea. They should have selected Uda or Oikawa. Niwa was losing almost everything in the last 1-2 years, bad decision in my opinion.
  4. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

I thought this is another weak Harimoto performance but he could improve in the second set. He needs another win of course, otherwise it's unlikely Japan wins.
  5. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

Japan can't win the doubles, no chance. Big pressure for Harimoto first single game, if he loses against Ovtcharov it's basically over for Japan.
  6. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

No matter which doubles lineup for Japan, the pairing of Boll/Franziska is better to me and if they are losing the doubles with Harimoto they are definitely screwed. On the other sides 2 singles wins are not guaranteed from Harimoto. In comparison with Kallberg he struggled more than Lin Yun-ju...
  7. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

I'm happy for Dima, great tournament for him and so close against Ma Long. On the other side it's tragic for Lin Yun-ju, he clearly couldn't deal with the pressure on his match points, he made several unforced errors which usually were easy points. Both deserved a medal.
  8. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

That was so close for both chinese men wow, I did not expect this. Ovtcharov usually has no chance against Ma Long, this is surprising. And LIN Yun-Ju is huge, a pity he lost. But he is the biggest threat for them in the next years imho. (Harimoto stagnated unfortunately with no real progress...
  9. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

Like yesterday against LAM Siu Hang. No footwork, so he stayed close to the table and mostly used his backhand. No forehand and no footwork. Simply not good enough.
  10. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

Yes seems like his WTCC loss against An Jaehyun wasn't just a fluke for the korean. It was similar there and he confirmed later he was too nervous. He performed really good when he is/was the clear underdog - he won against some chinese in the past. If it's a must have win he struggles in big...
  11. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

Harimoto is out, once again he couldn't handle the pressure in a big tournament. It was obvious from yesterday he was in bad shape because he struggled and made lots of mistakes. Not sure what they did with him after WTT Contender Doha in March. If he cannot improve on this he will never win a...
  12. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

This is not looking good for Harimoto, his journey could be over today. Seems like he can't handle the pressure.
  13. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

This is not looking good for Harimoto, his journey could be over today. Seems like he can't handle the pressure.
  14. Tokyo 2020 | 2020/7/24-8/9

This is a bad draw for Harimoto wow. He has to face Lin Yun-Yu before the semifinal and Pitchford was a difficult opponent in the past as well. It couldn't get much worse for him. China has to face only one of the biggest threats in semifinal, Harimoto or Lin Yun-Yu. And for Ma Long it's almost...
  15. 2021 All Japan National Championships

I have to say this was a shocking loss for Harimoto and it confirmed his T-League performances lately where he lost a couple of matches as well. After all the talk about his FH improvements it is confusing. Of course I don't know his training pensum during the Corona crisis, also I wonder if...
  16. SARS-CoV-2; CoVID-19; Coronavirus; Updates and Information

The first two scheduled world tour tornaments in August/September would be this: Czech Open, Olomouc: 25 – 30 August, First Stage 25 – 26 August ASAREL Bulgaria Open, Panagyurishte: 1 – 6 September, First Stage 1 – 2 September The difficulty is that such a world tour tournament usually...
  17. Caronavirus & Tokyo 2020

Even the Korea testing capacity is not enough for a widespread test of 51 million people, they have a capacity of 15.000-20.000 test per day according to some reports. The german laboratories have a current capacity of 58.000 tests per day, last week they made 260.000 CoV-2 tests they told. This...
  18. Caronavirus & Tokyo 2020

Only two weeks later: 22.000 infected people and 75 died. It spreads so fast, I did not expect this. Most likely no Olympics this summer. On a positive side, it gives Harimoto more time and may be Uda is an option if they have to postpone it to 2021 or 2022.
  19. Caronavirus & Tokyo 2020

Unless there is a rapid decline next month (which I doubt) there is no chance for Olympic Games in mid 2020, there are too many countries heavily affected, almost all european countries.
  20. Caronavirus & Tokyo 2020

It spreads really fast in several european countries. In Germany close to 400 cases up to now, more than 100 new cases in the last 24 hours. The good thing at the moment nobody died from it so far.
