  1. Spinniest but fastest all-wood blade that you've tried.

Thoughts on the below please guys!! whilst comparing a couple of rubbers this afternoon, I was doing a rebound comparison. Robot speed was set at 22, which is fairly fast. bat was held still, no movement, and angle maintained so the ball could hit the rubber and just bounce off. I was watching...
  2. Calling all EJ’s !!! List the equipment tried over the last 2yrs

H3 Neo 37 boosted on the Maze Magic was a little fast than the Rakza Z on the Donic All blade. Overall I would say that both have similar speed. H3 Neo throw angle was lower and forward kick better. I also set the robot at speed level 22 and held the racket at the end of the table, for a static...
  3. Calling all EJ’s !!! List the equipment tried over the last 2yrs

No , sorry, more speed than unboosted H3 Neo!!! I have Rakza Z on a fairly slow All/All+ Dotec blade, on forehand, I’m practicing tomorrow, so I’ll see how the H3 Neo 37 plays v the Rakza Z, the H3 Neo is on a maze magic blade.
  4. Spinniest but fastest all-wood blade that you've tried.

The Grubba blade i have is head heavy,(with rubbers on it!!). I think this can help with increasing spin to some extent. If you have 2 blades , 1 head light, 1 head heavy, and make 2 serves, same racket speed, same contact etc the head heavy serve should be producing a bit more spin, because...

I’ve used H3 Neo 37 degree, boosted 2 coats, very nice on BH, great spin, better speed, control still very good and feels slightly softer. I don’t think it would be lighter than the Rakza Z, but I use Rakza Z with 2.0mm sponge, not max.
  6. Spinniest but fastest all-wood blade that you've tried.

Yeah !! That’s the really hard part !! Keeping the contact correct!! One minute you are serving short or half long, sweet!! Then slight mis-judgement and it’s in the net or even straight onto opponents side of the table!! Contact too heavy !! Too light a contact, brush too fine and the ball...

But more racket speed does equal more spin, if the contact is correct.!!! The use of the fingers to tighten at impact (squeeze the blade, usually thumb and 1st finger) creates more speed and spin.

I think she said that they would regulate speed and spin etc, It would be like ‘Ping Pong’ where the equipment is standardised. Is ping pong more entertaining to watch??? Rallies are definitely longer!! I wonder if they tried boosting the sand paper back in the day!!! it’s sort of F1 v Indy Car!!!
  9. Spinniest but fastest all-wood blade that you've tried.

As this thread is based on all wood blades, fastest/spinniest etc, I’m not really sure I can comment about the blades role!! But I definitely prefer a harder rubber for BH serves. As far as which rubber produces the most spin for me when serving FH it’s Nittaku Sieger PK50. By the most I mean...
  10. Spinniest but fastest all-wood blade that you've tried.

Serving is sort of a back seat passenger, in that it can be difficult for players to practice, I’m talking about us average Joe’s here!! When we do go to training sessions we tend to practice routines, be they fixed or irregular. I feel these routines should start with a good serve, not just...

Very interesting about both the tables and racket coverings!! Standardising the table as far as bounce and reaction to spin is a good idea, and should be far easier to implement!! sanding the blade, naughty!!!;);) But so is boosting!! Also interesting that not so many boosted rubbers were...
  12. Loki N80 & Arthur Europe Diamond Rubbers

Hi Yogi, check Aliexpress, ‘official Loki Shop’ loads of much better quality photos, when I checked AED rubber, under ‘Specifications’ there was a line - origin - DE, which is Germany.
  13. Loki N80 & Arthur Europe Diamond Rubbers

No made in Germany label on packaging, there was an additional sticker on the outer plastic wrap, but this is in the bin!! The sponge used on the AED rubber has a lot of jargon in 5 languages on the packaging- Internal Carbon Force (ICF) sponge. Inherent carbon strength, superior rebound...

Hi Yogi, cut edges of rubber and sponge, black sponge AED, Orange N80
  15. Loki N80 & Arthur Europe Diamond Rubbers

‘Her indoors’ likes a warm house, otherwise known as a sauna!! ( well it would be if I didn’t turn the heat down on the quite!!) booster coats dried quickly, so glued earlier than expected!!
  16. Loki N80 & Arthur Europe Diamond Rubbers

Yeah, Aibiss sponge is dense, I could feel the difference between the 2 set ups. not sure why, but I don’t really mind heavy set ups, even when they are quite head heavy, the Tamca blade is well balanced though so it’s heavy but not head heavy. I could also feel the different weight distribution...
  17. Loki N80 & Arthur Europe Diamond Rubbers

So tried both rubbers tonight, limited time quick training session of about 1hr 20 mins. The blade I have glued the rubbers to is one of my old Tamca 5000’s, which is a pretty quick blade! For comparison purposes I have another Tamca blade with BTY Aibiss on both sides. Later, in a week or so...

I’ll take a couple of edge photos tomorrow.
  19. Short push or Drop shot

Hi Foxy, if you’re interested there’s another heavy back spin push, or ‘ghost’ push. Worth watching on YouTube just to see what can be done!! The ball bounces once, holds up then returns to the net!!! Great to watch!!! BUT NOT WORTH TRYING UNTIL YOU HAVE MASTERED THE BASIC TYPES OF PUSH. ITS...

I have a pair of Mizuno wave 8, I think they are the 8 model !!! They definitely come up bigger size wise, really good choice for those that have wide feet. Comfortable and grippy sole. not using them at present. Curently use Yonex 65M, these are really good, mid price range Yonex shoes. A...
