  1. Switch to Chinese rubbers?

H8 is also an excellent rubber, really good spin, slightly tacky. Very nice topspin kick!! maybe a different choice to start off with Chinese rubbers. I found it similar to H3 Neo provincial, maybe a bit faster, but I was able to change from the H8 to the H3 Neo provincial without any issues!! ;)
  2. Switch to Chinese rubbers?

Power can be generated in differing ways!! Conversion of said power into speed can also be achieved in various ways. Additionally, really good timing, amount of correct contact etc all go towards producing ample ball speed. you’ve found a way of doing this, and as you’ve said the end result...
  3. Switch to Chinese rubbers?

I think that ‘explosive’ is a pretty accurate description, acceleration into the ball with max racket speed at contact is desirable for max speed and spin Of course, you could have the fastest stroke going, combined with the worst timing and ........!!!
  4. Pushing is so annoying Help!

When serving yourself, serve topspin, at least then the chances of a topspin return is increased. So that could be a 50% of the points being topspin rallies. if your opponent can’t flick return a backspin serve then it’s a push return 100% . so as the others have said learn to open up against...
  5. Is Harimoto's screams disrespectful to the opponent?

No one answered this question, why?? tournaments in Japan are now apparently full of shouting youngsters? what I’m asking is, has the Choing at tournaments started / become more normal since Harimoto became famous? Did he always shout?? Or is this a more recent trait? When i started playing...
  6. Is Harimoto's screams disrespectful to the opponent?

Well judging by how the poll is going, the ‘NO’s’ victory ‘Cho’s’ will be deafening!!!;);)
  7. Is Harimoto's screams disrespectful to the opponent?

  8. Is Harimoto's screams disrespectful to the opponent?

PsyCHOlogical release!!!;);) This can be done without the volume being turned up!! if you talked too loudly, kept walking about during play at a Professional match you’d be thrown out !!! Laughable !!! Do you need to shout out ?? Is it really necessary?? Obviously for some it is. So is it...

  12. Is Harimoto's screams disrespectful to the opponent?

Pre lockdown, I went and watched a tournament, there was about 16 tables in use, that’s 32 people playing at one time. So if both players were ‘chooing’ at the top of their voice for every point won, let’s say one ‘choo’ every 10 to 15 seconds per table the shouts of Cho, etc would be...
  13. Is Harimoto's screams disrespectful to the opponent?

I totally agree, I think that a lot of coaches advocate this as a positive behaviour, and a way of putting mental pressure on your opponent. Sometimes, players shout / scream more for winning points than they do for winning the game or match !!! for me this shows it’s a mental tactic, a way...
  14. Is Harimoto's screams disrespectful to the opponent?

Haters is a very strong word.
  15. Is Harimoto's screams disrespectful to the opponent?

Farting in public!!!! Hahaha, all the time !!! As for the shouting, Harimoto is excessive and annoying, but there’s a lot of others that shout out, Maybe the coaches ( mental performance coaches etc) have told them to do it ?? Personally I think it’s excessive and needs toning down. like many...

Well, maybe!!! It does feel strange at first, but for me it didn’t feel wrong!!!:)
  17. Switch to Chinese rubbers?

From what I’ve read on ‘Ping Sunday’ many Chinese coaches will give youngsters an all wood all round, possible all + blade as a starting blade. To ‘feel’ the strokes. Learn to spin 1st, as this gives control, speed comes with improving technique (brushing) and physique becoming stronger...
  18. Donic dotec fastest version

I have now got 2 of the Appelgren Dotec Blades, these are All- to All+ rated, the sound they make is ‘different’ but the feel and feedback i get is great!! I prefer All round blades and these fit the bill nicely, my old ‘trusted’ Grubba blade has been put away, and the more recent purchases of...
  19. Switch to Chinese rubbers?

I don’t think that it’s totally true that the harder Chinese rubbers ‘demand’ a stiff carbon blade, when first starting out / learning I think an all wood all round blade is usually preferred for the beginners by their coaches. this way they can learn the technique better, then once a certain...
