  2. Sponge hardness between FH and BH rubbers

I’ve never seen Std H3 being sold at 37/38/39/40/41/42 degrees, definitely not . Maybe I haven’t been looking in the right place? I’ve seen a couple of posts that mentioned 38 and 40 degree. Zeio, does the DHS website mention available sponge hardnesses of 38 and 42 degrees for the Std H3?.
  3. Sponge hardness between FH and BH rubbers

yep, I see where you are coming from!!! DHS have muddied the waters. However below are a few H3 variations. H3 H3 Neo H3-50 yep same top sheet, but with different sponges that have different characteristics and have been marketed as different rubbers, a rubber being a top sheet and a...

Hi MOG, what’s going on?? Not another blade!! THIS HAS JUST GOTTA STOP!!!:mad: PS I have one !!! Straight handle. Nice blades the TPE series!! I also have a TPE Perform, very similar to each other. Never played with pips on it, so can’t say if it’s suited to pips. From memory the TPE...
  5. Sponge hardness between FH and BH rubbers

Not sure, could possibly have been available in China, but during 2020 the reviews started to appear, the last time I checked TT11, they still didn’t have 37degree versions of H3 /H3 Neo available. I think TT11 are possibly the largest DHS distributor in Europe. There’s limited availability of...
  6. Sponge hardness between FH and BH rubbers

H3 is generally available in 39,40 & 41 degree sponges, the 37 degree H3 is a new release this year. So T05 is slightly softer. How much softer it ‘actually feels’ maybe quite different though!!!
  7. How do rubbers/sponges lose their life

Yeah feeling it regarding not being able to play. We have been lucky in the UK, been able to play for a couple of months. All change from midnight tonight, LOCKDOWN V2 starting for a month :(:(
  8. Sponge hardness between FH and BH rubbers

It’s all personal !!!! I’ve used soft and hard sponge rubbers on both FH and BH. i used to play Golden Tango on BH this has a reasonably hard sponge 54 degree (ish) I really liked it !! I’ve also used Rhyzer 43 which has sponge hardness of 43 degrees [clues in the rubber name!!!) [hardness...
  9. How do rubbers/sponges lose their life

Hi BB !! above is XIOM Omega IV Europe, straight out of the sealed pack yesterday evening, looks like it’s been boosted or ‘factory tuned’ feels like it to!!! Totally agree that the effect wears off reasonably quickly, depending how ‘fresh’ the sheet is from the manufacturers!! Could be 2 or 3...
  10. Stupid question about Tenergy 05!

Nerdy EJ list done early doors of 1st UK lockdown!!!, Butterfly rubbers sponge hardness are from their catalogue. other rubbers from either their web sites or from buying choice, For example DHS H3 on TT11 you choose sponge hardness. bear in mind it’s not totally exact but is a good guide...
  11. Stupid question about Tenergy 05!

MXP 50 is relatively new ? It was released after I started playing again, which was Jan 2019, it’s 50 degree (ish) ESN/ Shore O scale which is 37 degrees Shore A DHS/BTY T05 Hard is 55 degree Shore O / 43 degree Shore A
  12. Boosting Friendship RITC 729 experiment.

XIOM OMEGA IV Europe, straight out of the packet, the left photo is ‘laying almost flat’ the sheet is very ‘floppy’ if you lift with 1 finger in the middle of the sheet it domes up and just about stays there when put down as shown in the RH photo, this rubber looks like it has been fairly...
  13. Stupid question about Tenergy 05!

MXP is about 47.5/48 degrees give or take, T05/25/64/80 are 49/50 degrees so not much in it really!!! Surprisingly Tackiness D which has been around for 35+yrs has 51 degree sponge, harder sponge more tackiness, BTY knew it back then, but didn’t really follow up on the tacky rubbers with harder...
  14. Correct way to return a long under/side spinning serve

If you’re the server then the best return is into the net!!!;););)
  15. Stupid question about Tenergy 05!

Hi Carl & MOG !!!! T05 has been around for a few years, and I think that it’s only over the past couple of years that ESN rubbers have reached similar hardnesses? when considering the type of top sheet. So I would think that a ESN user from 10 yrs ago would consider T05 hard and H3 concrete...
  16. Stupid question about Tenergy 05!

i agree with both Zeio and yourself!! better players can control incoming spin better regardless of rubber choice, simply because they are better players. however different rubbers do have different sensitivities to spin, end of!!!! long frictionless pimples, anti spin, short med long pips etc...
  17. Hurricane 3 or Hurricane 3 NEO for boosting?

Have you used Chinese rubbers before?? Especially on the BH side?? I think the Neo version is a different sponge to Std H3, and the Neo version may be factory tuned. I know that the H3 Neo provincial version is. Neo version is faster than the std H3, but not a lot. Both rubbers react well to...
  18. Dignics and its Effect on Sales of Tenergy and Rozena

DHS want the whole of the Chinese market!! They aren’t happy about the T05 BH situation!! It’s a foothold in “their” home market. Hence the 37 degree Rubbers specifically marketed to ALL as a Backhand rubber!!!
  19. Boosting Friendship RITC 729 experiment.

i have a sheet of RakzaZ as well, but only glued it about 2 weeks ago, so a while before it will need living up!! Also have a sheet of Nittaku PK50 which is around 50 degrees so that’s another alternative to try boosting!! not sure about the XIOM Vega Asia DF sponge hardness, or Omega IV Euro...
  20. Wildish errors by players -- so vexing, so abundant.

As far as football / soccer is concerned why wait for a generally longer period of time for a ball to go in a net, when you can watch TT / Tennis (or in the case of badminton a shuttle) go into a net on a much more regular basis !!!:);) I was brought up watching sport, if there was any form of...
