  1. Korea Open 2018

Looked to me the umpire said it was a side ball and they gave Harimoto the point which was the right decision I think. Neither Harimoto nor the coach gave the point to LJK. But as we know LJK isn't a honest guy, he did the same with Matsudaira, and his coach was a dumbass. Clearly a side ball.
  2. Korea Open 2018

He better should prove he can win world tour events like this, Harimoto has many years ahead where he can improve his game and stamina and he already won 2 world tour events. Lingkun won't have this time. Poor sportsmanship from Jingkun and his coach.
  3. Korea Open 2018

Expected loss for me. Harimoto can't play on the same level outside of Japan at the moment and Jingkun is extremely solid, almost no unforced errors in this match from him and his service receive was pretty good, unlike Ma Long in his last match.
  4. Korea Open 2018

Xu Xin lost 1-4 to Jang Woojin, another poor result from him.
  5. Korea Open 2018

First time he won against Youngsik. Now faces Lingkun who seems in good shape this tournament. I expect a win for Lingkun because he won't make so many unforced errors.
  6. Korea Open 2018

Since Hayata cannot play due to injury, does anyone know if Harimoto is playing his mixed double with another women or is it a walkover for Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha? edit: it's a walkover
  7. Korea Open 2018

Harimoto. No home advantage in Korea. So he pulled out of the tournament because of the controversial draw? Sometimes the draw is really strange I have to say. On the women's side almost all big chinese names are placed in the upper half of the draw.
  8. Korea Open 2018

And if he wins next round (probably) against Liang Jingkun. I don't think he can do it this time without home advantage.
  9. Korea Open 2018

Chinese B/C men with a poor performance this tournament. Only Liang Lingkun was able to go through the Quali. Not only the young players, also the more experienced like Fang Bo or Yan An lost.
  10. Korea Open 2018

This means no mixed double with Harimoto.
  11. Korea Open 2018

Xu Xin didn't play Japan Open! For me Xu Xin, Lin Gaoyuan, Liang Lingkun are the top contenders here. Harimoto still has to prove he can play this high level outside of Japan, I hope he can though.
  12. Korea Open 2018

Group 32 is unlucky with two strong chinese players, Liang Lingkun and Wang Chuqin together in one group. So one of both will be automatically eliminated.
  13. What is Tomokazu's world position now?

Against chinese players he is already the biggest threat outside of China I think. Some higher ranked players like Wong Chun Ting or Niwa don't have the speed or playing style to beat the better chinese players. However he hasn't proved he can play on this level constantly and outside of Japan...
  14. Japan Open 2018 - a beginning of the new trend?

No he is 16 years old, in August 17 years. Almost 2 years older than Harimoto.
  15. Japan Open 2018 - a beginning of the new trend?

And if Harimoto didn't had to play a HF some hours before the final like ZJK, Harimoto would have easily won in irrespective of the ball, based on the entire performance of the tournament.
  16. How does future chinese players will overcome the plastic ball lack of rotation?

There is no guarantee for the "have always found ways" success. The thing is Harimoto and his coaches will study his weaknesses as well and will try to improve, I'm sure he will because of his age. Boll was a threat when he was 20 years old, a player like Harimoto didn't exist before. As for Ma...
  17. What equipment is Harimoto Tomokazu using?

I thought he switched back to T05 FX, or was it before WTTC Halmstad. Assuming he uses T05 on backhand now it seems to work for him, his backhand was beefier than ever this week. Oh I see Butterfly already updated their page: https://www.butterfly.co.jp/players/detail/harimoto-tomokazu.html...
  18. Japan Open 2018

Of course it counts, Zhang Jike played a final, he earned 1620 points.
  19. Japan Open 2018

What a big win for Harimoto. It wasn't easy because everyone expected a clear victory. He beat 3x chinese and 2x korean players in this tournament, this is remarkable.
  20. Japan Open 2018

Amazing stuff, incredible. Harimoto had no troubles on Ma Long serve, he could attack quite often with his backhand. Big difference to the Lin Gaoyuan game where he couldn't properly return. Also Ma Long had big troubles on Harimoto serve.
