  1. Just tried the Hugo Calderano blade from Xiom, it feels pretty unique.

Compared to Lin Gaoyuan / Viscaria, Hugo SAL has a bit more control, bit more dwell time, bit less power from away from table, and less vibration.
  2. Just tried the Hugo Calderano blade from Xiom, it feels pretty unique.

Sherwin told me that they are good friend. They known each other long ago before they both start their own business. Then both their businesses become successful, one becomes a successful coach, and one establish a successful TTD~ :D:D
  3. Chinese Pro Equipment - Rubbers and Blades

yup, I think it's more of different playing characteristics.
  4. Chinese Pro Equipment - Rubbers and Blades

I played both shakehand N301 provincial and dynasty carbon. The most distinctive feeling is N301 has a lot of vibration. Dynasty is a bit more woody in short games than N301. Regarding top spin away from table, dynasty has higher ceiling than n301, but that also requires higher power and...
  5. Just tried the Hugo Calderano blade from Xiom, it feels pretty unique.

I can only generally say Hugo feels softer than Viscaria I can't conclude on the speed or throw angle between Hugo and Viscaria at this stage because I only played it for 10 minutes and Viscaria is not my main blade. It's slower than 968, this I am sure.
  6. Just tried the Hugo Calderano blade from Xiom, it feels pretty unique.

Yes the handle feels thick, similar to Viscaria, thicker than icecream. I mean FL handle, not sure how the ST feels
  7. Just tried the Hugo Calderano blade from Xiom, it feels pretty unique.

The overall stiffness of Dynasty is a bit high due to the very thick core. I think Dynasty require a good power and tenique to get the dwell time. At mid-small power, the ball bounce off a bit fast. Hugo has longer dwell time at small-mid power range. So overall, at mid-small power Hugo...
  8. Cheaper version of w968

I think it depend on different people's technique. So far T64 works for me.
  9. Cheaper version of w968

Try dignics instread (or just wait for D09C - the butterfly tacky rubber )
  10. Cheaper version of w968

Dignics 05 feels more linear. the catapult effect is not that distinctive as T05H. also, personally, T05H is a bit too fas for me. T64 on the backhand is very controllable.
  11. Cheaper version of w968

I've tried T05H on it. Feels fine. Currently I am playing D05 and T64, with no problem. But, some higher level player may find it lack of support when combine with non-tacky rubbers. There is a variation called W968-6, which is modifily specifically for non-tacky rubbers. It has a slightly...
  12. Cheaper version of w968

HL5 is a stiffer and less linear version of W968 Fang Bo2 is a even stiffer version. Yasaka Atletico Power keeps the woody feeling but ceiling is a bit lower than 968. Donic No1 Ovtcharov is HL5, Donic No1 Ovtcharov senso is a better HL5 (some where between normal HL5 and W968) For 200$ I...
  13. Just tried the Hugo Calderano blade from Xiom, it feels pretty unique.

Ever after Xiom signed Hugo, I was wondering what blade he will use. It is pretty certain that Xiom will made a named blade for him, But I am just wondering what composite would it be. Today I got the answer. My coach Sherwin got the Hugo Calderano blade, and I have tried for around 10...
  14. Xiom icecream azx(i)

azx-alc side is faster than TB alc.. if you want more control, azxi may be better

FANG BO 2 is like a cheaper version of Long5. it feels a bit stiffer than Long5 but overall it...

FANG BO 2 is like a cheaper version of Long5. it feels a bit stiffer than Long5 but overall it feels less vibration, long dwell time, and soft feeling. 301 feels stiffer, and the outer ply koto causes a lot of vibration. Yinhe V14 Pro is more like a Yinhe clone of viscaria. so less dwell...
  16. Weird spin on Hurricane 3

For Hurricane, you should close your racket angle, so that you can get more brush using the tacky rubber surface. On the opposite side, if you are using non-tacky rubber, you should open youe racket angle, to get the sponge involved to make the spin. That is the main difference in technique...
  17. Chinese Pro Equipment - Rubbers and Blades

Yes, dynasty carbon is quite popular for Chinese penholders. Most people bought the blade because of XX. But it is not that popular among the shakehanders. Butterfly is very well received in China. You will see more than 50% people using butterfly blades for those with certain skills.
  18. Any review for DHS Hurricane 3 Ma Long version?

Yes I've tried the DingNing ones as ML and FZD's FH rubbers are too hard for me. It's consistancy, not grip. Just try a provincial version and a normal national version. If you can feel the difference, the named ones are slightly better than national. If you can't feel the difference...
