  1. Rubbers for TSP Balsa blades

Someone has given me a TSP Balsa 8.5 blade and a TSP Balsa 5.5 blade that i want to give to new/improving players at our club. I think both are fairly fast especially the 8.5 and i want to recommend rubbers that will have good control and spin but not be too fast. The 8.5 probably isnt a good...
  2. Good rubber for improving player

Yes you are probably right. Easy to get side tracked with all the possible options.
  3. Good rubber for improving player

Thats a great price. I will bear it in mind for future, but as mentioned i already have a blade and one used but good sheet of rubber, so not looking for complete bat. But it made me think as that bat has Vega Europe DF, is there much difference between that and normal Vega Europe ?
  4. Good rubber for improving player

Thanks but i already have the blade Yinhe W1 and a used but OK sheet of MPX black so not looking for complete bat (but those are good prices). Decided to go for a sheet of red Vega Euro, from what i have heard its a good balance of price/performance.
  5. Good rubber for improving player

Thanks for the comments. I agree good to be able to get used to a longer swing without over hitting that a faster rubber may produce. The blade was given to me lightly used without rubbers, i was told it wasn't too fast I have no use for it so was passing it on for free as the player doesn't...
  6. Good rubber for improving player

A newish player at our club wants to change from a pre-made bat to something better. She plays 3 hours a week and has a fair idea of the strokes, but she has reached the limit with her current bat. She doesn't want to spend much so i am giving a cheapish Yinhe W1 blade (reviewed some years ago...
  7. Where to play in London?

What area are you staying in ?
  8. Difference between Joola tables

Thanks Tony, yes i did understand about approval expiry.
  9. Difference between Joola tables

Yes thanks. Both tables are ITTF approved. ArturS is probably correct, price difference may be down the the undercarriage rather than the top. I will post again if i hear back from Joola or distributor.
  10. Where to play in London?

Youngs TTC , South East London. We play North West Kent & Bromley leagues
  11. Difference between Joola tables

Thanks. I have written to Joola and local distributor to ask what the difference is but no reply. Don't want to spend more than necessary but probably best to go for the more expensive Duomat pro
  12. Where to play in London?

Hi Brs, if you are staying close to Tottenham Court rd underground station (7 mins walk from the Uni) then the new Queen Elizabeth rail line takes 24 minutes to get to our club. The main club is open Tues & Wed from 7.00pm, but we also have another venue that we can use 7 days a week. So sure...
  13. Difference between Joola tables

Hi, our club has 5 Joola Duomat tables and want to buy another. The old tables have 22m top the new one is now called Duomat pro and has a 25m top. But there is also a Joola world cup table which also has a 25m top, this table is almost 30% cheaper than a Duomat pro. Both have a 4 wheel per...
  14. Organising practice nights

Again thats sounds better as you have more table for the number of players so no one sits out. We have a few too many players, but the sport is dying out locally so difficult to turn players away.
  15. Organising practice nights

Thanks, that sound good. But i think you have a better ratio of tables to players and the benefit of 2 coaches to organise things. And being open 12 hours is great, we only have 2 1/2 hours and have to fit everything into that. Do you have players sitting out who need to come on? Someone...
  16. Organising practice nights

Yes possibly true. But even with 12 on 4 tables that should be ok if players don't spend too long on the table. But some just don't pay attention to how long they are playing for.
  17. Organising practice nights

Hi, just wondering how others organise their club practice nights. We have 4 tables and allow 12-14 players per night.& have 3 problems. 1) Despite repeated reminders some players stay on the table too long which means some are sitting out longer than they should 2) Some players get left out...
  18. Setup for limited mobility

Thanks, i did look at Marder and was useful to see the way he varied the placement, then found this. But i still can't find much when someone uses LPs on forehand which i intend to do. I would also like to do a bit more than push block if possible, but perhaps i am being too ambitious..
  19. Setup for limited mobility

Thanks, that sounds like what i would like to do. Just hope i don't confuse myself with what side of the rubber i am using after i twiddle ! I will buy something this week, Just to clarify does no sponge LPs give less or more control? What would be the benefit of having a thin sponge?
  20. Setup for limited mobility

I thought that no sponge gives greatest disruptive effect, but more difficult than a thin sponge to control. As i can't play much i don't have time to practice so thought a thin sponge would help me.
