  1. What does the Japanese Women's Team have to do to beat China in Tokyo 2020?

I like your lineup for 2024. I think Kihara will make a name for herself like ito has in the next few years, who knows what they can do together. So for 2020, do you think the current lineup has a shot at gold against china?
  2. What does the Japanese Women's Team have to do to beat China in Tokyo 2020?

I definitely think Hayata should be on the team, but maybe replacing Hirano instead of Ishikawa" Ito+Hayata have a chance in winning their doubles match, as past records show, they were the best doubles team in Japan by far, with Nagasaki and Kihara slightly behind in my opinion. Ito has to...
  3. What does the Japanese Women's Team have to do to beat China in Tokyo 2020?

I completely forgot about DPRK. The only substitution from 2016 until now was Ri Myong Sun has been switched with Kim Nam Hae, who is a hell of a player herself. However, I dont think Kim Song I has been as threatening in recent years, but anything can happen. Germany and Singapore are...
  4. What does the Japanese Women's Team have to do to beat China in Tokyo 2020?

Which teams do you think Japan will have trouble against, besides China of course.
  5. What does the Japanese Women's Team have to do to beat China in Tokyo 2020?

I'm pretty sure the JTTA already announced that they will not be changing the lineup for the Olympics next year. Otherwise I would definitely question Ishikawa's or Hirano's selection over Hina Hayata.
  6. What does the Japanese Women's Team have to do to beat China in Tokyo 2020?

Great thought! Can you provide an example of how?
  7. What does the Japanese Women's Team have to do to beat China in Tokyo 2020?

I actually quite agree with you. The pair of Hina Hayata and Mima Ito would be quite a threat to the Chinese. However, given the current lineup (and the announcement by JTTA that they won't change the composition of the team), is there any way you can see for Japan winning gold?
  8. What does the Japanese Women's Team have to do to beat China in Tokyo 2020?

How can the Japanese Women's Team beat China in Tokyo 2020? Hi guys! This is my first thread so I hope it doesn't violate any rules or anything. Given that Tokyo 2020 was postponed one year, until the summer of 2021, how can the Japanese Women's Team improve in order to increase their chances...
  9. Guess Tokyo 2020 Medalists

What happens if Mima has a spectacular year and breaks into the two 2 WR? Is there any way CNT can ensure there will be a double Chinese final can happen? Just curious!

  11. Zhu Yuling: Tokyo 2020 Is None of My Business Already

I for one feel sorry for her because of the tremendous efforts she's put in. Had the Olympic selection happened last year, she would have a been a viable candidate. 2019 revealed something I had though even during her best years- she's very exploitable. Something about her style indicated to...
  12. 57 years old He Zhi Wen beating WR63!!!

Yes! My friends get lessons at Robert's club whenever He Zhi Wen is in NY. I've had dinner with him once actually as well
  13. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

In addition to this. Sato cannot play two singles I thought. She would have to come in as the third player since she didnt finish in the top 2, and the third player always has to play doubles during an olympic team match. Meaning Sato couldnt play two singles. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  14. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

To what extent is this the last chance for Hirano to make the singles? Do the results of the Top 12 event in Japan affect the decision at all? If not then Hirano will need to muster 110% against Wang...
  15. German Open 2019

Yang Xiaoxin plays a very similar style to that of He Zhuojia. Instead of always attacking with the LP, like He, she varies the pace and the speed of her attacks when she does play aggressively. It seems as if flatter balls and change of pace draw a lot of mistakes out of Ishikawa.
  16. German Open 2019

Yea I'm pretty sure Vorobeva beat Bernadette Szocs and not Cheng I ching
  17. Japan Women's Race to Tokyo 2020 Singles

The representatives for the XD event have to come from players on the country's respective team, hence for Morizono to clinch a spot, he would have to rank in the top two men in japan by world ranking (Almost impossible at this point), or be chosen for the third team position, knocking out Niwa...

I dont think it was smart for the US to bench Amy... it was too close for comfort
  19. Chuang Chih-Yuan leaves Team Chinese Taipei

Feng Tianwei was ousted from the national team. It wasn't her choice to be let go. Feng and STTA must have come to some sort of an agreement though, as she still continues to represent Singapore in international events. Chuang Chih-Yuan's decision seems to be entirely his own from what I can tell.
  20. Why no reverse modern defenders?

A left handed chopper would have difficulty against right handed attacks. Because of the side spin that would be produced by a lefty's backhand chop, it is easier for a righty to continuously attack the backhand, which would be a huge issue for the chopper. At least that's my two cents. There...
