I wonder why they don't include the legends Liu guoliang and Ma lin.both those players have competed before with these legends in the 90's and can be considered as on the same level as them

Good question! Maybe its difficult for a player like Ma Lin to fit it in his schedule.

I think this event is such a great inititive! I hope they play one of the series in the UK :) Maybe London!

Ma Lin wouldn't fit to this tour. He is much younger and stopped playing one year ago, while most of competitors got much older and stopped playing many years ago. Ok JMS is still playing sometimes, so he might be in a good form, but still it is far away from younger Ma Lin.

Just 2 weeks ago Jorgen Persson took part in the Kuwait? Open...

I did a search, everyone on the list is born in the 1960s. Liu Gouging is born 1976 which would make him about 10 years younger than the average. Ma Lin was born in 1980.

I was thinking though, how did they choose who gets a bye and why didn't they find 2 more players so nobody needed a bye.

It is fun to see the older generation still putting on a show. :)

Nice catch! I read the poll again and found Dan made a mistake in the poll. It should be Jorg Rosskopf rather than Mikael Appelgren who participated last year ;)

Opps! Corrected now :)

Thanks for letting me know. Looking forward to the highlight videos now!

The original post does still list Applegren and not Rosskopf though and it is in more than one place in that original post.

That being said, Dan, you are still the man.
